Tokico Ride Height

Curious to know people's experience with ride height after the installation of their tokico struts (either model).

The general concensus (before they came out) was that they might RAISE your car, due to installing a new, firm strut.

But, I've seen a few posts of users reporting they got an additional drop.

I am on 18's and still have a bit of gap up front with the eibach pro kit.
Adding to that is NOT what I want to do!

Also, what is their life / wear expectancy?

I recently went from stock struts with maxspeed springs (1.3 drop) to same springs with tokico illuminas. Car sits same as before. Cannot speak to longevity, yet. Lifetime warranty if bought new so save stockers to have something to put in place if ever having to do warranty thing would be my suggestion.

when i had racing beat springs + tokico hp (blues) on my ride, i had bad wheel gap up front like you were describing.

i recently added tein s-techs the other day and the drop is great, the 2.0"F/1.4"R drop really solved my gap problems up front.

the drop on the p5 will be different than the sedan though, so you might want to read up on it.

all i knew is that the car had a very unbalanced stance with the racing beat/mp3/msp springs.

it might be something differerent with the 99-00 models, im not sure. all i know is that things balanced out very nicely with the tein s-techs, and i cant wait for them to settle.

Tokico's (either model) have 2" less travel than stock, and ARE shorter.

And the P5 on Mazdaspeed springs does not sit un-evenly. There's more space under the feder over the front than the rear (the reason so many people rub only on the rear). The body sit's flat in relation to the ground, it just looks like the front is higher. The front is higher when stock too, you just don't notice because the gap is bigger and they look the same. Any drop, and the rears sit close to the fender, the fronts not so much.

I, like you 12, already have the eibach kit.

My stance is pretty aggressive and I like it. My goal in getting coilovers would be to eliminate the 3/4" gap thats still up front. It is a bit higher up there, but its certainly bearable.

I just dont want to jack it up by adding struts.

At this point I can't really justify $1200 versus $500 in upgrading.

yeah, the more I think about it...I don't think i'd be able to street it without the gap up front. My lip already rubs a good bit.

i'm sorry i got lost in your wording and / or I am a dumbass.

are you stating that they should indeed drop the car a bit?

Usually the drop, if any will be very minimal...

lol sorry. Yeah, they should drop you a little. They're stiffer, but they're shorter.

They aren't "Shorter" when you hold tokico blues to regular stock struts they are the same overal size, the perch on the blues are higher, that is why there is less travel.
