To speed3 or not to speed3

Good luck getting the trade in values posted at nada and kbb. I asked my dealer for them and he offered me 3000k less.

Ive got an 02 P5 with 76000 miles. Its been a work truck plus gorcery getter+ wannabe race car. I still owe 6 on it. If i hadnt refinanced for a wedding ring for the wife i would owe only 3. When i go to trade it in watch theylle offer me like 5 for it. Im only hoping to get the worth of my loan outta it. Damn it I need cash for a down payment give me 7 for it. I hate selling a car and getting ***** by it.

Ok im gonna lay it all out here. Im a nursing student due to graduate Dec. of 07. After I pass the NCLEX test and get a job ill have plenty of cash to spend. So here is the question: do i stick with my pos P5 untill that time and pay for all the maintenance costs that will come with 90000 miles, and the whole "oldness" of it, and get a nice shiny Audi after i graduate OR do i get the Speed 3 now suffer the hurt of payments for a year while in school have a cool car and be tided over till probly 2010 when i can afford something a little more spacious? Damn this is a real pickle. What do all of you think?

I'd say don't live beyond your means. The speed3 is nice, but it's just a car, like all others. If you're fully able to pay for school, a new speed3, and all the things you need to get by and be happy, then by all means go for it. Otherwise, I'd say hold out until you can aquire the new car in a comfortable manner, with no major financial stress.

Just a thought...

Nurses are in high demand, but why not wait until january and get a speed 3 Consumer reports just rated the regular 3 number 1 for hatchbacks above the audi a3.

From someone who has basically been in debt his entire adult life, some free advice: Hold onto the P5 until you graduate and get your next job. Once you know how much know you have to burn, buy whatever you think is best. Is there really that much maintenance between now and early 2008?

Everyone is thinking with your heads now. That is not what cars are about.

Having had my MPS for a month now, you only have to ask yourself one question.

"Do I have to hang on to my current cars steering wheel with both hands as its front tyres break traction in first, second and third gear on the way to 150 MPH?"

If you answered no, it is time to sell your sole to the devil!

You will get the link when you see Mazda's marketing campaign for the car.

Wait, there will be an actual ad campaign? They couldn't have done the same thing for the MS6? Just great, my car has lost $6-7K in value because they didn't bother to market it, and now they're gonna go all out for the MS3 and sell all the damn cars before I can afford to get one.

Yes theres a timing belt, motor mounts (cuz stockers suck) clutch and tires. I fortunately only pay 700 bucks a month for rent and have a wife that provides 2000 a month gross. Plus during summer i earn about 10 grand. We have about 5 grand to put down with a comfort zone. My biggest stickler is the gas mileage. I only get about 24mpg with the P5 so 20 isnt going to be much worse. But with the future of gas in Cali being very uncertain it makes me worry. Yes the future will hold more cash but i need to have fun between now and then in order to keep my sanity.
