To keep the speed6 or not?

read the whole thread... and no government stipend. my husband wanted a track car, so he got one. i wanted one too - so i got one. thats 2 of the cars. my husband has a turbo altima & gsxr as dd . i have the speed 6. the evo came along and was too good of a deal too pass up so we got it. theres no government money floating around and no handouts. its all hard earned. everything is free and clear except the mazda and the evo. is that clear enough for everyone?

Where's the 5th car play into this?
I see the altima, GSXR (assuming suzuki), evo, and M6.
Anyways, assuming you have mods in store for the Evo that make it your "track" car and by way of that unfit for DD or winter driving then I see a decent reason to keep the 6. However you have another 1 of the vehicles that could perform this function as well or if the Evo can be your DD and track car then I would unload the Mazda.

To my original comments, if you do keep it, definitely try to refi that sucker. If you cant, its insane to keep. Unless of coarse you will get another car once its gone with another bad loan. If your going to get something else on better terms it may make more sense to do so.

Side note, no one is jealous of what a bank owns by which I am referring of course to your Evo and Mazda. I could go buy two of each right now.
Its not hate anyways, you will find that many here are generally fiscally conservative and your spending style is very contradictory to what they see as logical and sound spending habits.

I see it a lot, as well. This, actually, is the first time I've seen it on this site, which is unfortunate.

Go back to mid 2003 when the MSP first came out and for the following year.
You would have thought there was a civil war on the board.
Rather funny stuff back then.

it feels like groundhog day today...2-240sx(track), altima(dd), mazda(winter), evo(dd) and gsxr(summer) i already refinanced the mazda for a stupid low apr and awesome payment. i say you live once! money comes and goes. i dont have kids so i have cars, thats what makes me - me. to each their own..right?

this is BY FAR the most ridiculous forum that ive seen in terms of people going off on a tangent when you ask for something completely different. you say its not hate when clearly it is. what our household income is means absolutely nothing to the purpose of this thread. we can afford to have expensive dd's and recreational vehicles - so we do. theres no need to tell you what we do with the cars, but we did so you would understand. obviously - you dont.
my husband is a soldier and HAS to have his own dd - which can be any of the 5 he chooses. he chooses to use the evo the same i choose to use the mazda. what we make financially or do with the other cars is strictly irrelevant. you dont like what we do with our money - tough s***.

I am glad to hear it worked out.

Lets look at some things here objectively from any one other point of view other then your own as we do not know your story, finances, ect as you have stated.

1. You asked if you should keep a car or not with no offered reason as to why you would actaully keep it or not. So all the posters had to start digging information out of you as you offered nothing by which to help you make a decision.

2. We found out that you had a horrible interest rate on the loan of near 20%. Now although you say your finances are fine, this loan rate yells loudly in contradiction. Again, objectively we dont know only you do.

3. You mentioned having a number of other vehicles, many have questioned this not because they find fault with it but because they wanted to see if perhaps the duties of the mazda could be covered by one of those cars instead, giving you a reason to unload the mazda or justify keeping it. This had nothing to do with "hating" finances or any of that.

4. I would like you to step back and for a second consider what those who you think are haters are really preaching. Would you or your family be any less better off if you had lower bills via less cars?
Would your future be any less secure?
So are they really talking negatively?
I would argue you, as would anyone, be better off and able to save more, pay down other loans, secure your retirement, even take a European vacation...whatever by way of lower bills. 5 Cars is a lot so by that alone most people will see a lot of savings to be had. Again where you had not offered reason to keep or get rid of the car, this was the most obvious subject to investigate and after all you asked us to do so.

5. "hate" in the form you use it is an incredibly immature and irrational context. No one here really cares what loan you can get. You dont even own these cars.
The thing many people see immediately by your posts is an immature attitude mixed with irrational spending habits and contradictory posts. because of that, many people are not going to predict the best of outcomes for you or family. Believe it or not, much of this Hate, stems from a concern for your general well being.
Let me give you an example, your husband is a solder so I am betting you feel rather safe from the unemployment plague effecting 20% of the families in the US right now. However, I will promise you within the next three years the military will be taking MASSIVE budget cuts. Think Clinton's administration but twice as deep this time.
Hopefully you or him dont loose your jobs but that is a legitimate concern for 1/2 the population and a very real struggle for 1/5th the population.
I know I dont know your finances, I also dont know your future, but I do know I dont wish any ill days come your way so I hope during this you are taking the initiative to save for a bad time, and protect both your future.
You may only live once, but it takes a long time to die poor once.
