To keep the speed6 or not?

Because there are more Evos on the street than Mazdaspeed6s.. Then again its all up to you if you want something more OG keep the MS6 if you want something more available to the market keep the Evo.

But remember when you roll up your just another Evo :)

i actually have seen more ms6 on the road than evo's on two road trips accross country these last two times. and in phx az i saw only one evo wagon and at least five ms6

The guy is not asking help from e-financial professionals. I forgot that on the internet everyone has zero debt, owns houses free and clear and exemplifies model financial behavior ALL OF THE TIME....that is, except the person that starts a thread asking what to do. The guy was asking about his car, not about his finances.

And to the poster above me, it's not all that hard to believe that 25.5% of people are below 599. Especially since 675 is the average score, meaning 50% of people are below 675.

werd. i couldnt have said it better

well you dont' care, but I do. I'll be paying for your gov subsidies. Think your low income housing and food stamps come out of thin air?

(bang)

Where did it say he was on the government charity train? If he can live within his means with the cars he has, who gives a s***? 1 car out of 5 being upside down (slightly, at that) is not a sign of future financial ruin. Get off your high horse and stop polluting the thread with your financial opinions.

oh america- land of the free. where my husband defends the country so you can have your free speech to talk your retarded bulls***. you dont have a clue about me or what i do or how much money my household brings in. im obviously not using food stamps and subsidies if i can afford 5 turbo'd cars and still have money to feed my family and pay my bills.
i really dont even know why im defending myself against you. youre not half as smart as you obviously think you are.
what a dolt.

thread jacking on some stupid s***....well i say keep the 6...its a sexy car :-) thats what this place is all about!

I don't see that many Pinto's on the road, so by your logic that would be a more desireable car based on exclusivity?? Here in St. Louis I see more MS6's than I do Evo X's. Not bashing on the MS6 (I obviously drive one) but there is a reason that the Evo has been in production since the early/mid 90's and the MS6 stopped after 2 of production.

Both are good cars but again as stated If you want more of a Tuner friendly car go with the EVO simply because of the aftermarket support. I dont know how many there are where you live but where i live theres plenty of Evos around including the newer models. I have seen a few ms6s as well but its because we all keep in a tight circle within the performance/import community we have meets where we all get together etc through Ricekiller that they have every monday.

Yea because its a Mazda.. Seriously the only known performance cars from mazda as in mainstream are the Miata and Rx7.

The Evo has a legacy years and years of service to the industry and a diehard fan base just like the 240sx,180sx, sylvia, etc. The Mazdaspeed 6 its niche is a thin line its more like the legacy GT but even Subaru has more a lineage with its legacy regarding performance overseas.

Regarding the MS6 I dont know the exact number of cars produced but I believe north america got around 5,000 the first year and about half that the next year not sure though.

Globally I think it was over 10,000 produced the first year.

Honestly I did not want an MS6 at first I wanted maybe to get an S2000, RX-8, Audi TT, EVO possibly, Mazdaspeed 3..

The only reason I got mine is because it was only 14,900 and ithad only 19,000 miles on it. I got it january 1st or 2nd forgot of this year.

I bought my 06 speed6 in 2007. It now has 67k and I still owe $16k. Should I keep the speed6 or not? She has her small issues with small rust and such. But should I sell her off for the amount I owe or ? Im torn and I would love to opinions!? Just bought a 2010 Evo too :/ Thanks in advance!

Sell the Mazda.
There is no reason to keep the car at all from anything you have written especially where you have a dog s*** loan that is costing you several thousand per year in interest. It sounds like you have absolutely no need for it, it will start needing more costly maintenance and you clearly dont want it anymore. I am sure one of your 4 others will be able to take its place.

To answer the "or ?" part of it, which is the most annoying ass thing on the planet. Pay down the damn loan. You can pay more then the monthly payment after all which will counteract the terrible interest rate.

However due to the number of vehicles you have, and the "defending my freedom" comment, I am guessing one of two situation exists:
1. There is something already catching your eye that the payment of the Mazda is going to be put towards. If this is at all the case, just pay down the Mazda faster. Then you get to keep it and get something else in a year or two when its paid off.
2. The reason you have this number of cars is you get some form of government stipend ( I still cant believe we pay officers' wives just to exist) toward vehicles. It sounds like the next round of funds is coming your way so you can go get something else. Growing up my friends dads was an officer in the Air force and it was like for him. They had about 6 cars because the government just kept buying them in one way or another rather their old one was working or not. It came in the form of a monthly check so they could use it however they wanted. He bought cheaper domestic cars and paid them off quickly then went and got another.

i own 5+ cars because thats what im all about. is cars. now that i refinanced the mazda i dont really care to sell it at this point unless in which i can but if someone really wants it for 16k and i dont see that happening. i got a awesome loan on both cars so financially its good. well minus that i owe more than its worth. but i really doesnt bug me that much for some reason..

read the whole thread... and no government stipend. my husband wanted a track car, so he got one. i wanted one too - so i got one. thats 2 of the cars. my husband has a turbo altima & gsxr as dd . i have the speed 6. the evo came along and was too good of a deal too pass up so we got it. theres no government money floating around and no handouts. its all hard earned. everything is free and clear except the mazda and the evo. is that clear enough for everyone?

hahha congrats you paid off cars from the 1990's what a accomplishment. maybe in 13 years you will have that evo and ms6 paid off also.
