Like I said before, I think the cali ppl should get together and talk about this. Sevenstock would be a good place to discuss it for so cal ppl.

Yeah, I agree with peter. The nationwide club idea is definitely an interesting idea, but we'd never be able to meet up as a 'whole' its just very unlikely that would happen. Seeing as how most of the Mazda's in the west coast are in Cali, it'd benefit us if we had our own Mazda club of Cali/west coast....it would really be a good idea for EVERYBODY to meet up and discuss how this would work. Anybody from Bakersfield/Buttonwillow area? that's pretty much in the middle, although there's absolutely nothing out there. It'd be a good place for ppl to meet, probably like a 4hr drive for everyone. oh, and if we do have sub-chapters...VOTE for RANDY IN SD!!

-just my $.02

haha n00b! i've driven up as many times as u have driven down steph, we just wont count the times u came down b4 i had my car hehe. and besides, i just wanna be the SD rep. :D

I think dues would be good. Now if we do become a California chapter are we going to use dues to showoff at shows(race/HIN,Import showoff etc.)? We could also a National meet halfway. BTW I can get discounts @ 20/20 Autobody if anyone needs body work done. Or maybe we can just become the Californis s-wagon chapter :D

If we do have our own CA chapter the RULES would not be all the same. I am pretty laid back when it comes to things like that. But there would be a few that would be universal between all the ProMazda chapters. It would be up to myself, and the Nor Cal pres. to discuss and impliment, so I dont think you have anything to worry about.

As far as funding and fees go.. yea it would be nice to have the cash for large meets, but I cant even imagine it would be too much money for each person. My main reason I would like the money is for club apparel for everyone. gotta Rep!

I know alot of people with connections to Mazda and other aftermarket products that could hook us up if we become a club. One of the reasons I would like to join is so I can have someone to enter shows with. We could have our own little section!!!!!!11

Okay, here's my take on all of this, and Pfizzle, I understand where you're coming from...
I've done the local car club thing, and that was tough. 15 of us...We only lived 10-15 minutes away from everyone else so meetings shouldn't have been a problem. The thing is, some people work days, others work nights. Some work all weekend, others may have it off.
Back to the Protege club:)
Here in Northern CA(the Sacramento meets), we haven't had the best turnouts. 3 meets:2 of them only me and Option(who doesn't even have a Mazda yet) showed up. The third went well. We just don't have enough members on this board from the Sacramento area. I'm thinking if we do this, the Bay Area crew will need their own chapter. That way, they can do their own thing, and regulate stuff better(Highway 9 run for example).
I know you SoCal people can get this going for sure. The Bay Area seems to have a good amount of cars. We have about 5 that might come to Sacramento meets. Between the Bay area and Sacramento people, we need to meet up and figure out what people would go to which meetings(which is closer driving distance).
I'm not sure how many poeple will read this, but we need to find out how many people from the Sacramento area are interested in joining.
Pfizzle, I'll talk to you more about it later. We need input from more northern Cali people in the mean time.

No dues!!! I already spend too much money, I'm not going to pay to be in a club. And I shouldn't be required to wear the shirt like I'm required to wear my outfit at work. I should want to wear the shirt and I really don't want to. Plus aren't some of their meets mandatory? I would like to keep my job thanks.

1st post with my new phone :) now there's two maniacs posting while driving, and geoff wants on too.

Hey, I'm listening too!! (OT: sorry I couldn't get you a EDM rear bumper when I was overseas. I was outprocessing and leaving before the dealership would even recieve it)

Anyways, I've also got some connections on body work for the peeps near LA. Well actually it's on Hacienda and Valley. I also know people that install, dyno, and do "smog checks" and I'm in the process of getting them to hook it up for some of us.

The only thing I don't like about a big club is that it's big. I don't mind having a bunch of little kick it crews everywhere and every now and then we all get together for a big meet. I also like the idea of having some laid back rules and as long as the dues are like 5 bucks every now and then that'd be cool too.

aww where were you when my husband had his rx7:(

Cool, we got 3 that will show :D . I still agree with the dues though. If we can give like 5 bucks a month or something it would be nice. Not only to buy t-shirts though, we could save enough for next years Super Street tour. If we give more we can have enough fo reveryones gas and rooms :D , yeah right who am kidding :(
