just take 40 bux out of your pocket and buy a joep mbc. try it out for a few months and see how you feel about your 'speed.
you can always get rid of the car later if you still aren't satisfied with its performance.

can the dealer tap into your ECU and find out how you are driving and how much boost you are running?
They are doing this to RSX owners. I was talking to some guy that blew his clutch and FW after a night at the drag strip and the dealer would not fix it under warranty because they tapped into his ECU and saw that he redlined the car several times.

Um, only if the modification resulted in the damage for which he seeks repair. And no, it is NOT people like him that are jacking up insurance - that is absurd.
Firstly, actions like this have NOTHING to do with insurance. Furthermore, only a fraction of the car driving public is under warrantee, and only a fraction of those modify their car, and only a fraction of THOSE have problems that send them back to the dealer to attempt covered repair. This segment that you are blaming hiked "insurance and other things" on represents such a miniscule percentage of claiments that it is statistically negilgeable.
Unethical it may be, but costing you money it is not, yoda says.

Too bad my profec B spec 2 stopped working 20mins after I upped it to 10psi. I was waiting for the colder plugs to come in b4 i upped it and sure enough the b**** stopped working after i got it dialed in. So im waiting to get a new one back from Greddy

Well that "Guy" was profoundly impaired if he took that as an excuse for the dealer to not fix his car. You can have your little fantasy about the dealer being the all knowing, all singing, all dancing UBER-Human and let them hump you out of your warranty I on the other hand will not.

No offense, but the big brother thing is almost true. I used to be a dealership tech and recieved factory training on scantools from Snap-On, GM's Tech II, Chrysler's DRB III, and Ford's NGS... I have seen some of these tattle-tail codes. Does it tell you everything? Far from it, but it can tell you if the maximum speed has been surpassed (like on a hill, etc) or if maximum engine RPM has been exceeded, such as driving into the fuel cutoff. However, this is absolutley NOT true of all cars. Unfortunately, I have seen them one half a dozen Fords... Mazda likely has access to this, if they choose to use it.

My friend blew his WRX motor running too much. He went and paid for a new block and did not even try to cheat his warranty.
I was wrong mixing warranty with insurance cost. Yes they are 2 sepparate things, but since you are so "smart" you could have figured out what I was trying to say. Warranty fraud is something that many people do or try to do. It affects everyone. If this problem did not exist, car manufacturers would offer longer warranty or cars would cost less. Does anyone know how much car manufacturers paid for false claims? we are the ones that at the end pay for those false claims like another friend I know that tried to have his car fixed under warranty because the moron run his car with no oil!!
