Im posting this here also since has to do with a 06 speed 6 part.
I was having trouble installing /removing my stock tmic from my 2012 ms3. The reason is because i have a cold pipe mounted to it from a 2006 ms6 (great price)that has been tapped for meth.
I began my stage one meth install and all is going smoothly until its time for the tapped cold pipe. I switch cold pipes on the factory intercooler. When i go to install it back on the car i see that the coupler that goes from the throttle body to the cold pipe is hitting the throttle body. This cocks the intercooler in a way that wont let it go over the mounting bolts.
The 06 speed 6 cold pipe is all aluminum where all the other cold pipes are aluminum just past the bov then its a rubber 90 degree hose. There is not enough space to fit it on with the rubber coupler installed. So i was forced to install the cold pipe first on the motor then install the intercooler and bolt the cold pipe up to the intercooler. That was a pima.
The motors (except pistons)/ manifolds are the same in between gens 3/6 so is there a special way 06 speed6 guys do it or
