Tires too tall for drop?

Ok, I got myself in a jam I believe. I have tires thats are 225 50 r17. I have CM springs that drop about 1.75". Will I rub is my question. I know when the springs are put on it's going to be very close. I'me afraid they'll rub too much in the front. A little rub won't bother me.

So, what do you think will happen. Anyone wanna trade for a slightly smaller drop, like 1-1.25" drop for these 1.75" drop.

You should be fine. I dont know if CM Springs are progressive or not. But depending on what the spring rate is, you should be okay. If you are not able to clear it, then go to Autozone and rent a fender roller and bring your fender out the tiniest amount. But like I said, you should be good. If all else fails, sell the tires and get some shorter sidewalls.

thanks for the reply man. Worst part is, when they Do go on, and they DO rub ALOT (if thats the case) then I have to take them off...a whole pile of hours wasted lol

I just put on some 245/40ZR18 on my MS3 last night with no issues. And it is dropped about 2" all the way around. So you should be okay. I know you have a different model. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Why not do a 225/45r17, that is closer to the stock 205/50r17 size. It is also what I run.

for starters it came with 16" rims. 205 65 r16

secondly, I NEEDED tires when I got these a couple weeks ago and for what I paid for them I couldn't pass them up. I really wanted to get 225 45 r17's but was quoted $200 per tire from the local guy and didn't have that kind of cash laying around. not even any that sized used in the local classifides. So I had to go with these.

Also, is anyone familiar with fender "pulling" not rolling but pulling as i've been told. Maybe that would aid in the poking of the tire lol

I dont know about pulling fender...? Rollins is just using a heat gun and a roller to safely flare the fender out for better clearance. I did it to my honda. Its really easy.

ok, i'm gonna go for it anyways considering i have them....i'll post pics when I do get it done

lol..it's early....thanks for the clarification...i'm hoping to gt these on tomorrow....if autox doesn't go ahead

what does everyone think of the idea of be painting my wheels black...think they'll look better than the aluminum?

This thread is all over the place. Anyway, u want to powdercoat not paint. Much better finished product and longer-lasting as well.
