tires sliding

hey all. i really love the stock suspension of my p5 but i have some questions about it. on fast turns, ie, right turns at like 30-35 mph, i get very little body roll but my tires squeal a bit. id like to try a turn at 40 but im afraid the tires will squeal real bad and ill slide. would new tires help, or is it more involved with the way power is deirected to the wheels (no LSD)? also, i get massive wheel hop if i hit the gas at all before im straight out of these turns, but that probably has to do with the lack of an LSD.
also, how does lowering a car affect its handling? id like to do it because i think it looks better, but im afraid of rubbing the undercariage on speedbumps, my driveway, etc. and i dont want to lose the nimbleness of the stock handling. thanks!

wider wheels and tires.. the weakest point in our suspension is our lil skinny doughnut tires. -=)

lowering your car will increase the handling performance greatly... most people on this board are using the Spool kit, and some eibach.. either way I have not heard anything bad about any of them, and they can be installed with minor tools. And yes, wider wheels/tires will give you more contact patch to the ground which obviously increases handling as well.

how wide are our stock tires? can you get wider tires on the stock rims or do you have to get new rims along with the new tires? also, can someone explain what the "offset" of a wheel means? thanks, sorry for the dumb questions.

Go to an autocross school or at least an event, or some other kind of car control school. Then you will have a better idea of how your car handles at the limits and what the different feelings mean.

Remember if you lower your car with springs .. you should really get stiffer struts too so you don't overwork the stock ones because of the increased spring rate.
