I am looking at getting a new set of tires for my car, I have made up my mind to only buy AMERICAN tires. I have done some research and if it is true I only have 2 choice GoodYear and Cooper. I am looking for a good street tire, and hope to one day do some track events. So if anyone can give me some advice on which one might be better.

Since you only have 2 choices I would go with the Goodyear. If you want to step out from your 2 tire limitation I would check out Continental, Bridgestone, or Dunlop. Stay away from BFG!

Nitto is my favorite but not American. Defiantly Goodyear out of those two brands tho.

I have the Cooper Zeon ZPT's on my car. They were on there when I bought it about a year ago. I am actually fairly impressed with them. I've put about 18K on them. I don't know how many miles they had on them when I bought the car, but the car only had 25K miles so I'd doubt it was all that many. I will probably replace them before winter, because I wouldn't feel very confident going another winter with them. The tires have good dry grip, although I've never tracked them. They are decent in the wet and I had no problems with them in the snow... and we quite a bit of it this past winter. Road noise is not bad. Tread wear might leave a bit to be desired, but it seems like the MS6 goes through tires rather quickly in general.

I really don't drive the car during the winter, so maybe a summer/track tire would be better

tires are DOT good for comp rules and street use. each one gets better than the first, and yes nitto isint American. so ******* what.

lol, thanks for the input. I need to set a date with you to go to the track, I work at different company so now I can get off during the week.

wilson, I got school on the 17th this month. after that you want to pick up my nt-01's Ill sell them for cheap! Mine are 225 50 15's, they fit extremely well with the correct offset (in other words no fender rolling needed).
