MP3
Hello all. I'm seeking tire advice among many other inquries. I just bought my MP3 and the tires on it are definitely not winter ones. I plan on toughing out the rest of this winter, since it's already March, but for future reference can anyone help me out on winterizing my car?? What are good tires? How much might they cost?? Any advice on anything about the car would be appreciated. I'm still trying to get a feel for my car. I love it so far, just not in the 8 inches of snow we have here in CT.

welcome to the forum, the stock tires do suck in the snow. Most people invest in a set of steel rims and snowtires, usually around 400$. thats what i did.

Yeah thats $400 for an entire set. If you can find a used set with tires go for that. I got mine for $250 used with 2000 miles on a set of blizzaks. They're alright and I saved a lot of money over new. ILPperformance.com has a wheel tire set. I think it's $350 plus shipping or something like that. But if you drive a lot like I do to get to work, I would invest in a bra of some sort for the winter. Or getting that clear protectant stuff from zebart done. i wish I would have. My front ends pretty chipped up now from rocks and salt now. But welcome to the forum and enjoy the car.

I'm from CT too!

Hey Volley2six, where in CT are you from?
I'm from Trumbull and have a yellow P5. The only MP3 that I've seen recently in CT was in Vernon, yellow.

Yeah, I was plowing through the snow today on my stock tires, not fun at all. I mean, it was fine if I went slow, but who wants to do that? :D

I'm from Fairfield. I bought my car at Monterey Motors in Milford. It's blue. I sledded to work today in my car. I've never been passed more on the highway. I think I saw an old lady riding a bike faster than I was driving. :p

Yeah, the going is slow, I was passed yesterday by a BMW SUV on a regular road, I was pissed.

If you see a Yellow stock P5 (for now, yellow calipers when weather turns good) somewhere between Trumbull and Stamford (where I work) that's probably me.
There's actually another yellow P5 that drives the same way (Merritt) and also goes to Stamford, and she has a big Zoom Zoom sticker on the windshield and a Zoom1 license plate (I think).

Are you making any mods to your MP3? Still stock?
I'll keep on a lookout for ya:)

I just got it 3 days ago so no mods yet. I need to fix the alignment tomorrow hopefully and next week I'm getting an alarm system. Do you have any suggestions for places in CT where I can get good service on my car? i'm originally from Mass so I don't have any connections here yet. This alignment is bugging the hell out of me though. Got any places??
