Tiptronic vs. standard auto

Mustang...
So I'm in that group of looking-for-a-P5 peeps. A good friend of mine has one and since I saw it at Thanksgiving, I've wanted one. I want a hatch with room to haul drums.
I don't really want a 5-speed and have become very intrigued in the tiptronic auto considering I live in Duluth, MN which is a city built on the side of a big hill.

I live right on the hillside and having the tiptronic would be really handy. I wanna know if jumping on a great deal on a standard auto will be something I'll totally regret (plus it's black, I wanna get out of a black car). The non-tiptronic is the big hold-up for me, but it also has under 80k miles so it's so tempting.

Any insight from you auto owners would be great. Both tiptronic and standard.
Thanks a lot!

i would go for the tiptronic if its not too much more. i have a tiptronic mazda 6 and its much more fun i like always put it in manual mode no matter where im going

i say go for what u want the most so u dont regret it later, but i honestly dont think a tip tronic will make that large of a difference

I just wanna be able to save my brakes as much as possible. The streets going down the hill are pretty steep and I'm constantly riding my brakes. Being able to shift on the fly seems so much more practical. My friend that has one agrees that the tiptronic is a life-saver, though he's no car guru in any sense.

well being able to control the gears does save me a lot of braking i would have gotten a fully manual if i could find any 6's with manuals near where i lived but i couldn't

I would go with the triptronic as you will at least have the option of changing gears manually whereas the auto you would not. That's obvious I know but you asked. (dance)

also, if you get the tiptronic version it might come with other goodies like spare tire subwoofer and other small things

i bought my P5 3 weeks ago and it's a tiptronic. i thought i would really miss the manual but i love this transmission. the tiptronic is so nice for when you want to control your gears.

I say if you can drive stick get the stick! If you like drivign stick you will be very disapointed in the tiptronic trans....

I'm not good at nor do I really enjoy driving a stick which is why I'm leaning towards tiptronic.
The hill here is steep as it is and come wintertime it's so much worse. I want the east of automatic with the opportunity of more control. Looks like I'll be holding out for a good deal on a tiptronic instead of jumping on the auto.
