Hi, I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and i was wondering if anybody from my area has installed tint (rockblocker) on their headlights and/or tail-lights and if they have had any problems with the LAW

Thanks

I live in London (near Toronto) and have tinted Taillights. I used Nightshade, not Rockblocker, but I have yet to have any hassles, and I have been pulled over (improper sticker)

I think (depending on level of tint) you're fine for the tails, but the headlights might get you in trouble. then again, I see people with tinted headlights all the time, so maybe not.

Depending on the level of tint it is probably illegal to tint the headlights and tail lights. Not the type of thing they would pull you over for, but if you are ever rear ended and have tinted tails, and the other guy said he couldn't see that your brake lights were on you would be at fault. Basically, there wouldn't be a problem with having tinted lights till something happened accident wise, or you had a poor attitude with a cop that had pulled you over for something unrelated.

No I still have tinted tails. I'll eventually get another set of blue rockblocker for the front lights. Hitting the guardrail kind of scratched up my original rockblocker.

I have looked up the Arizona Law on it before. That's why I know.

i just moved from edmonton a few months ago... i tinted my taillights with the vht niteshades spray tint. not super dark, but definitely darker than stock and had no issues with the local police. as long as they're still reflective when light shines on them and you can EASILY see the brake lights when you're braking, you shouldn't have any issues. i also have tinted eyelids on my headlights - with the 03 headlights (ie, the black surround instead of the chrome) - and never had any problems.

Cool Link.
So where do you get the spray or film from?
And does the spray go on the outside of the light?

the spray can be bought at most "performance shops", maybe even places like Pepboys/Autozone (no idea what the american stores sell) for 15-20$ (it's more then that here).
And it's just like spray paint; it goes on the outside. I suppose you could bake the lights and put it on the inside, but that would be one big pain in the butt if you ask me, with possible problems of leaking and whatnot

I guess I don't worry as much with film, you can just pull it off if something goes wrong. Spray scares me.
Sorry this is so off topic people!

I live in Edmonton, rear signals are tinted (see sig) and front is too (not in sig, I took that pic before the film was bought). Never had any trouble at all.

I even have a tint cover over the licence plate, and haven't had trouble.

Red front signal lights they dont like though :D

I would day its probably illegal. In MD its illegal to have ANYTHING on your headlights, even if its clear(not that anyone could tell anyways)

Doesn't help that the Edmonton Mazda Club website is the slowest and deadest forum out there.

I was gonna post on the edmonton forum but like u said it's so dead! I'd love to meet some protege people around my area! I'm doing a turbo project sometime soon so i would love to have somebody local to give me some heads up and shops they would recommend for tuning/dynoing.
