Does anyone know of a good window cleaner that wont damage the tint on my car? Windex says its not suitable for tinted windows. Also is there any way of getting tint off of a window after its been applied. I think i got a really bad tint job done at the dealership and it will turn purple after a few years! thanks in advance!!!

any window spray that doesn't have ammonia. there are plenty of tint safe window cleaners out there.

Windex makes (used to make?) a cleaner that has vinegar instead of ammonia.

^^ yes, Windex still does have a specific car glass cleaner that is ammonia free. I have a bottle, but no idea if they use vinegar or not.

Meguiar's NXT Generation Glass Cleaner. Excellent product, safe for all types of tint, great scent, and made for auto use. Works even better in conjunction with a glass microfiber towel. Available at auto parts stores.

Yea, maybe its just me, but I purchased that product and I will never buy a chemical product for glass/tint cleaner. After some time, since it is a chemical on your windows, the windows got really 'foggy'. Now, I just clean my tint AND windows with water and a rag.

I think I notice something like this too. I always used the Stoner's on the outside windows after I wash the car, and now whenever the dew sits or it rains and I run the wipers across, seems to have some sort of buildup. (uhm) Never used it on the tint though, I didn't think it was safe.

find an old empty windew and clean it out or buy a spray bottle. Fill with distilled water and add a half dozen drops of dishwash soap to it.

I have a can of that invisible glass and I distinctly remember it saying not to use it inside the car. It's always worked great outside, though.

I have never found anything tint-safe that cleaned worth anything, though.

As for removal, hose it down with Simple Green and let it soak a while. Start an edge with a single edge razor blade (or a fingernail) and if you're lucky, it'll just peel right off. I learned this from the tint shop that did all the work on my MP3.

Oh I dunno about the invisble glass, I can't say I've actually used it inside. No wait, I must have because I got my tint done June 2004. I've definitely cleaned the glass since then.

There isn't anything on the can of Stoners that I have right now that says not for use on tint. It says to test on an inconspicuous spot first. But doesn't say not to use it.
I dunno...make your choice. (rei)

But I did use it on the mirror in the bathroom, and after a shower the mirror had more fog on it than I have ever seen before. (shrug)
