We are changing the timing belt/water pump/FSZE Cam/tensioner pulley and idler pulleys on my MP3 today... Had to stop because we ran outta daylight. Anyway, I cant seem to find the torque specs for the tensioner or Idler pulleys...I have looked and read the FSM... A friend had taken it off and said it was very tight... then when I tighten it down, it doesnt move. (and isnt it supposed to move?) Does anybody know the correct torque for the tensioner (maybe the idler pulley too?)

Thanks in advance! :-)

what do you mean "doesn't move"?

all the specs you're looking for are clearly stated in the "engine mechanical" section of the FSM

Well, you know how you can grab the tensioner pulley with the hex wrench and pull clockwise... well, when I tighten the main bolt down to "hand tight" it is very hard to move, even with the hex wrench...

dang, I didnt see it in the fsm... I will have to look again. Sorry

you must've done something wrong because tightening the bolt doesn't do anything to keep it from moving

maybe you put it in the wrong place?

Haha... Nah, its in the right place. I remember where it was before i took it off. (wiggle)

It is stil spinning fine, it just doesnt seem to be able to put any pressure against the timing belt... IDK, I will try to put the old one back on tomorrow... Maybe I am just not seeing how it works...
