Time/Radio display

I've been noticing in many pics of the Mazda3 that the radio display has a couple of very fine verticle lines (one is right after the time, the other is after the station frequency). Does anyone know what these are for?
Example...
7:05[vertical line here]FM1 ch1 107.5[vertical line here]

I'm going to assume they are breaks in the LCD so that you can differentiate between the time and the channel, etc.

It's just to break up the display into sections.

Probably....

Yeah, separates the different portions of the display.

Left section: clock
Center section: Radio stuff
Right section: Auto Climate Control stuff (not used in N. America).

I am having mine taken out because that is were my switch panel is going to be. First the back funnel piece will be removed and then in its place will be a piece of red lexan that has four switches across it. All this will be under the custom fiberglass piece that is going to house my aftermarket Alpine headunit. The factory cd changer unit will be removed and in its place will be a 8" LCD monitor flush mounted into the dash with fiberglass. I think that it is gonna look awesome. Should be done real soon.
