Time for new rubber

It's time for new tires for the 91 BRG baby... I was looking at the Falken ZE512 which seem a great tire for the price. But I haven't found anyone who has had them on a Miata... Can anyone give me some thoughts? Thanks in advance! (drive2)

I have them on my Miata using the stock 14 inch wheels (195/60/14). Indeed, they're not a bad tire for the price for cruising. However, considering the height of the sidewalls in this size and the tire's design, they provide poor handling characteristics. They induce a lot of "squirm" when cornering.

I run them as street tires. In NC, there is no better all season tire than the Ziex512. I've run them on my MR2, my P5, and my MSP and I'll buy another set when I need new street rubber.

... But I will be getting azenis for my track wheels.

Oh...heh heh...am I the only bOOb that runs Azenis on the street? :D

heh...the tread life running them on the streets and to a few autocrosses a year = ~10K miles, in my experience. I haven't yet worn out my set of "old" Azenis, but I can't wait to try the new series Azenis. Maybe next year.

No, but you're still a n00b. (first)

I've done work with vulcan tire (They're a client of mine), those are nice guys over there. They may do price matching as well.
