Grrrr. I was thinking today (always dangerous) that I should buy something for the car. Not sure of what...just something (to show that I care).
Thanks to a errant piece of debris somewhere, I am having Tire Rack overnight a new Dunlop to me. I came out of the house this morning and started to pull out of the driveway and felt it. The driver side tire was low. I stopped and saw just HOW low...about 3-4PSI from being flat. I drove the three blocks to the local gas station and inflated the tire back up to 37PSI cold and did a quick inspection of the now rounder object. My hand runs into a good size nail in the crown of the tire. Not in the tread and not in the sidewall back nicely in the crown! I ran it to the local tire store (that I will trust with the RacingHarts) and they confirmed the news. Can't be fixed.
I found a good sized bolt (looked like a fender bolt) stuck in the tread of the right rear two weeks ago. Plugged it. On top of that, had to replace the right front back in May (I think) due to a bubble in the sidewall.
I did notice that I picked up both of the flats after airing down the tires from 37/35 to 35/32 although I don't really think a couple of pounds make the tires easier marks for pieces of crap with a desire to travel.
Unlike the first tire, Tire Rack had the tire for $129 plus shipping. Last time I am sure I paid full boat for a tire from the local Dunlop/Gooyear dealer, since they were backordered everywhere.
