When i start it up and let it idle i can hear i ticking. It is noticable even i accelerate slowly. I have had people say it is the lifters, though i am not sure of that one. Are our lifters hydraulic?

Anyone have any ideas or a similar sound?

does it go away after a little while, like when the motor gets warm? it might just be the injectors

Mine was making that ticking sound because two blots were loose on my exhaust manifold.

Mine ticks a bit too. I guess I never checked after it warmed up. I think it still does it. I just assumed it was an injector. That's the area it comes from and it doesn't seem to hamper the performance that I can tell.

My bolts have come loose and I've tightened them back up on more than one occasion. I keep a check on those pretty regularly. I know it's not my problem but it might be relevant to michiganspeed.

Mine doesn't sound like the clip. It is more subtle, and the frequency changes when accelerating.

What is good recomendation fro cleaning the injectors, a can of fuel system cleaner?

i have heard a ticking sound at idle too but its a valve on the piping from the ic to tb if you have the factory hard pipes still in thats where i get my ticking sound .. noticed it when i swapped ot hard pipes and mounted the valve to the firewall

well when i hear a ticking noise in my car I took it to the dealer and they checked the head out, nothin wrong with it. Took it to a local engine shop, one I trust. pulled the whole engine apart found 2 bolts missing to the exauhst man, and the rod bearings were flaking off.
