Ok, first, how do you post a audio file on here? I took a sound clip of the noise but I havent been able to figure out how to post it on here. Is there any special format I should use? Currently the file is in MP3.

Anyhow, if I remember correctly the noise does get faster when the motor is rev'd up. It sounds like it is comming from the side were the belts are but I'm not sure.

Also Sometime I hear a clink sound when I start the motor. It usually makes this noise right when it catches, when starting. It does not do it all the time? I will try and get a sound clip of this as well once I figure out how to post it on here.

Answer
I took to a mechanic and he told me that nothing was wrong with the motor. Thanks for the help Guys.... I'll let you know if there is something that we find out later....Car Drives fine!!!

you can upload the MP3 directly to your post by hitting the "Manage Attachments" button in the reply screen

yeah I have this same problem, but it only does it when it's cold outside... I was thinking it was the starter, and its hard to hear but the ticking does get faster when you rev the motor... but when the motor is warm the noise goes away...

most likely valve tick. Mine does that too when the oil is still cold but then goes away

thats what I asumed it is but im still a bit worried about the loud click when I tun the key to start it...

here is the sound clip for the ticking noise that I'm hearing.... I did go and listen to it after running around town a bit on my lunch break and I couldnt seem to reproduce the same sound again.

Mine sounds exactly like that right now, just happened. I drained the oil to check for bearing particles. I didn't find any. So this weekend Im going to pull the valve cover and cams to try to figure out the problem. Keep me posted if you find out anything. Ill let you know if I come up with anything.

If it's the same problem then you'll get to a point where it won't go away.

HOLLY HELL, well all I can say is that aint the sound i'm getting thank god... but that sounds like a piston knocking againt the cylinder... or maybe its just the distortion on the audio...

drain your oil threw a fine screen and look for any metal shavings asap...

Driver X, Can you tell where the noise is comming from? From the top of the motor(Head) or bottom (Around the Crankshaft)? Try using a stethocope. I tried listening to mine, but I just cant seem to tell where its comming from.

they actually sell a stethoscope with a wire on the en of it just for the purpose of finding noises in a motor... I picked mine up at a local auto store "Two Brothers" but I doubt yall have one anywhere else...

Most auto stores have them, you just have to look around.

I always knew the ticking was normal, but the OPs issue definitely isnt the normal ticking lol
