no when i'm actually drinking....like on number 6 or 7, or half a bottle of jack, i get a driver.....my sister hates it when i run out of cigs in the mid of night...cops in tx don't play around...if you're honest and respectful you might have away out but that's about it.....in williamson county to north of austin they are REALLY bad like going through cars and ripping them apart if they even suspect anything.....plus they pull poeple over for anything

Agreed. I think the speed3 is probly one of the best cars for blending in with. Cops don't look twice at me I love it.
So i went to court today!! and i got my yellow foglights dismissed!!
but not my exhaust!! the idiot cop keeps saying i need better pictures!! he says that i removed the silencer!?????(what the) and i need to take pictures of inside the muffler and he said to clean it first!! are you kidding me!? i went to court prepared and they still didnt dismiss it!! i took pictures of the muffler to the exhaust the outside of the exhuast the inside of the exhaust and the guy is still saying i need to put the silencer on!! and check this out he said that i said i removed the two "regulators" what the hell is a regulator? so basically all im asking is for advice? anyone with some info i waas thinking of goign to the mazda dealership getting a statment from a Professional mechanic, or taking a picture of a speed 3 there compare it!? ahhh so much time being wasted!!

did you modify your stock exhaust? by regulators he means on of the two resonators before the muffler. by silencer, he means the muffler. if you did remove these, then the cops that pulled you over knows his s***. if you didnt remove anything then he is in the wrong. the best way to prove that is get a diagram from mazda of the exhaust layout and show them that yours matches perfectly with it. also you can get a letter from mazda saying that you have not modified your exhaust
Cool!!that diagram sounds good i think thats what ill do!! yeah i got the resonators removed but he has no idea what that is, instead of just guessing he should know don't you think. he keeps repeating silencer and like i said i took a picture of the stock muffler, stock exhaust tip and still nothing!! and no he doesn't know s***, how can you say i have a silencer on the stock exhaust. i even tried to explain to him and he said he knows about fixed up cars.I told the judge this is how i got it out of the box
oh and the cop also said that hes supercharged gt is quiter than my speed 3 ? i mean what is loud too him? sorry im a little irrate... its just a waste of my time, but thanks for the advice i appreciate it.

Pulled up to the stop line one night and noticed a cop opposite to me. Was sitting at the red talking with my buddy and his girlfriend. Looked down to adjust the AC and when I did the guy next to me started to roll up. At the same time the walk light on the corner came on. In the corner of my eye I saw a light come one and a car move and the little voice in the back of my head went "GREEN!". So i went. Halfway through my buddies girl in the back goes "um... its still red"
I put my blinker on and pulled over before the cop even had his lights on.
Cop-"Why did you run that light?"
Me- "Well sir..the truth is im a complete idiot" (actually said that to him)
I told him I wasn't trying to be a jerk, and that I even had seen him sitting at the light when i pulled up. It was just a mistake. He gave me a $50.00 ticket , told me to fight it and I would probably win... and I did.
To be honest its not paying the ticket i mind, its the insurance hike!

not trying to be a jerk.. but is there a chance that you might have gone roaring through there at any other time, and called attention to yourself? does that cop sit in that place all the time? you said it's a place you drive through often, right?
he might have been on a kind of lookout for you for some crazy reason, or saw you blast by him in his wife's SUV one day. you never know. it just seems like they are really trying to bust your stones over this (for the lack of a nicer term).... and your car might not be so loud to you, but if it isn't stock exhaust, a good cop is going to know it..
just thowing that out there... we're all targets for the man.....
i putted by one in a 400hp chevy luv pickup once ... well.. the best version of 'put by' that one can do.. and he pulled me over... (i hated driving dad's truck. total NONsleeper)
asked me to blip the throttle for him, so i did... 'is that stock exhaust?'....
'what do you think?' (2.5" all the way out no cats, 2 chamber flowmasters... BIG cam)
he laughed.. said it sounded really good, and wasn't really that loud (heheh yeah, sure).. popped the hood, we talked about a few things, and i was off....
doesn't always work out that way. attention grabbing works on everyone..

You will be surprised. Cops have an "in house" computer system that is separate from their joint USA offender records. I have heard them (via scanner) go back 10 years on the in house system..FingBS...you could get a headlamp warning, wreckless or worse and they will air the infraction 10 years later. Big Brother...expect it...
Slow down? Do you get your license taken away for this?

there was a crackdown on sound pollution in a college town where i live, but they didn't pull over anything except harleys. they really are more obnoxiously loud than any crotch-rocket, and they all disappeared after the week of checkpoints ended. but that yellow fog light thing is complete BS. there are plenty stock models out there with yellow fogs, be it bulbs or overlays
each time i got pulled over were for moving violations but only got ticketed as a MV once.
they other i talked them down to a slap on the wrist

yea his claim was "I could hear your exhaust from across the road", i told him to look at the muffler and read the name. all OEM, take it up with the Manufacturer if its too loud. He told me to have a good night and went on his way
That my friend is what you call a fishing expedition. Nosey cop saw you in a tricked out hatch... thought to himself "those damn kids!" and came up with a reason to pull you over that you couldn't exactly refute. In court it would be hard to prove that he didn't hear your exhaust. Easy to prove it was leagal, but hard to prove weather or not the cop heard it or not.
Once hes got you pulled over he can start looking (fishing) for other reasons to bust you.
Which is why I always keep a few beers in the car. "hey officer, nice night. Want a cold one?" I find befriending them always helps... and friends always like beer.
haha, well im 18, so beer would just throw another smack in my face. its all good thought not the first time ive been pulled for sum thin stupid.
o, and the cop coulda got me if he wanted, he didnt look to see if i had stock cat or not. testpipe FTW!! haha
i did have underage kids in the car, both 16 and it was 3AM, cerfew laws in VA suck ass, he could wrote tickets but i dont think he could see through my tint, and they were in the back so the tints darker.

hmm well in that case better go with the hard stuff ... or a little panama red. 
My first MS3 was drowned in a flood. In the 4 weeks between loosing that one and getting the one I have now I got pulled over in my moms taurus one night. My ex was freaking out because she had poison ivy or some dumb s*** and apparently it was "real bad". I was distracted and the guy was sitting at the bottom of the offramp for 290, looking for idiots like me.
Worste part is the ex is a prude and i didnt get any that night....
