Throttle body and fuel injection service.

:
2007 Mazda CX-9 Touring
When I went to the dealer about the control arm recall I figured they would try to look for something so that they can charge me some money. On the invoice they said I needed throttle body service and fuel injection service ASAP. My 9 has almost 88k miles on it. Has anyone with this mileage or higher ever had this done? Is it necessary?

I was cleaning the injection and throttle body on 55k.
This is recommended first time at 40к, and every 20k later (in the Russia, but not official dealer).
After this service, I do not see any difference.

Vlad, thanks for the reply. That's what I thought. Anyone else have any input or experience with this. ?

NO. It is not needed in fact its a classic, hi margin job that never needs doing. Way to cultivate brand loyalty! Good job dealer!

Agreed. Every couple of years I spray off the throttle plate with MAF Sensor cleaner and may pour in some cleaner (such as Techron) in my fuel every 10-20k miles but overall if you use quality fuels, this should not be necessary.
