- 2009 MAZDA2 NEO 1.5lt Auto 5Door JMODE10Y1901426XXX. 203,500km
Mazda2 DE 1.5L MZR ZY-VE Engine, factory standard no Modifications.
I'm running 5W40 Shell Helix ULTRA GTL Full Synth ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4 SP DEXOS2 etc with 6% NOACK. Have multiple days 10 Deg to over 45Deg C in summer here. The 5W40 does not require a Top Off over 5,000km
Have run Shell Helix ULTRA GTL Full Synth 5W30 ACEA ECT C3 SN etc ?% NOACK in Winter 0 to 25 DegC typical. The 5W30 required a Top Off of 100ml -150ml over 5,000km.
The car does Plenty of Stop Start City Driving along with 2Hr & 6Hr High Speed Full Op Temp runs sitting at 120km/Hr door to door
Have purchaced some Shell Helix ULTRA GTL Full Synth 5W30 GF6A ?% NOACK to try for the Winter so will see how it goes WRT Top off over 5,000km.

Mazda 2's run Hot. 100-102 Deg C on OBDII PID for the thermostatic Fans to cut in in the stop start driving following following the 80km/Hr or 120km/Hr full Op Temp Runs...
What are others seeing WRT for High Ambient Temperature Operation? & Oil volatiles evaporation.
What is the NOACK % of the Oil you are running?

Could be worse
.....I could be at Cymbric Vale Station Australia, Jan 2026 10 Days over 47 Deg C Highest Temp Day 51 Deg C
Wet Change has occured there for February 2026 320mm of Rain ie 1&1/2 years worth of Rain
