Thoughts on the TWM SS

So I installed the SS last night and I must say, "what a big difference"!

Quality of the piece is very very good.

Installation is easy. Hardest part is releasing the tabs that hold the bottom cup in. Thanks to the special 'tools' that TWM includes, it wasn't that bad. As an aside, do all short shifter kits come with a special 'tool' to aid in installation? When I got the Diesel Geek short shifter for my TT, the kit included a bent nail to keep the shifter in the right orientation while installing the parts.

Feel is good. The action is more direct and about twice as heavy as stock. The best thing is the 2-3 miss that I sometimes had, even after installing the TRZ MM, is gone.

Thanks TWM for making a standout product.

Welp, about 350 miles later and I'm loving the TWM STS w/ bushings. Can't believe how much more crisp shifting feels - could also be due to the CS MM inserts I installed at the same time :D

FWIW, the stock knob is weighted. As much so as some of the TWM knobs. Unless you have giant hands or are allergic to leather/numbers...stay with the stock. The slight increase in weight their knobs offer over the stock MS3 knob isn't worth it IMO.

Oh, I had a TWM knob. Leopard I think. I sold it.

IMO, the stock knob felt anemic compared to the TWM. I held both in my hands and the twm felt at least twice as heavy. I think the stocker is under 200 grams (somewhere around 170 or so). Also the polished steel has a much better feel and looks a whole lot better than stock. It's also scratch resistant. The only downside so far has been on sunny days, it gets hoooTTTT!!

I had a weighted knob when I had the Kartboy shifter for my P5. I liked it, but like B-geuse says, it gets hot. I also liked the Kartboy logo that was on it, very fun.

Your shifter resembles a stubby cock. I bet a chick would love to drive your car (lol2)
