thoughts on RX8 sunroof wind deflector?

New RX8 owner, looking at the following on eBay:

says a genuine Mazda part; I've just purchased my new car, been in the garage parked (Ohio-->snow) and I havent had the experience of driving w/ sunroof open, Of course I understand part of the opinion is subjective, i.e. one's preference and taste, but also looking for feedback from those w/ experience re: functionality and quality. Does it damage the paint, is it a quality product, heck, is it necessary? I think it would mesh better w/ the ti-gray color of my RX8, as I'd imagine it could look out of place on some colors.

My wife's car came without it. She wanted one; so, I had one installed while they were taking care of a couple of things we found after we got it home. I don't like it, myself. It makes cleaning the car more difficult, doesn't look that great, and adds little value to our car because she seldom opens the roof. It was a whim thing that I'd just as soon remove. The cost was $59, if I remember correctly; so, I doubt the Ebay part is OEM. Could be, though.
