Thoughts and observations on my new 2016 GT

:
Mazda6 GT, MX5 PRHT
I've put just over 2000 miles on my 2016 GT in 5 weeks of ownership. I watched every Youtube video and read every test on this car before buying. These are my observations:

1. Noise - I don't find the wind noise or road noise bothersome at all. I can't understand complaints in this area. Maybe because my previous driver was a Mazda5 and I also have an MX5 my perspective is different. But, for a car that I paid $28,588 out the door I have zero complaints in this area.

2. Ride - I find the ride to be awesome. Just the right mix of comfort and sportiness for me.

3. Power - Yes, more power would always be nice but I'd rather have the efficiency the car gets. I have had no problems passing people when needed even when space was tight.

4. Exterior - Yes, it is a 4 door sedan and mid-size but I like the looks more and more. I have received many compliments on the car.

Interior - Stellar. The interior does nothing wrong in my opinion. I can't think of anything to change or improve upon. Maybe more color options but having a limited selection I'm sure saves money.

Overall, the car has exceeded my expectations. I knew it would be a step up from the Mazda5 but it is a huge step up. I feel like I'm driving $40k or even $50k car every time I drive it.

Noise: improved in 2016. I compared my 2016 Mazda6 against my 2014 Mazda3. The former is significantly better. Even my wife can tell.
Ride: as good as BMW except when tuning hard (this is still not 50/50)
Power: 184hp. Sufficient, but it will not win any races against any V6 sedans.
Exterior: subjective, but I love it more than any other sedans
Interior: Best under $30K (quote from some magazine)
Overall: power is weak at 1500rpm. Once it goes past that, power is sweet. Use of Sports mode avoids engine hovering between 1000-2000rpm at gear shifts.
With Sports mode, this definitely feels like a 7.9sec (0-60) sedan.
