This Used to be My Daily Driver...

Well, whenever someone brings up the reliability issue with me I feel this overwhelming urge to bash heads in. I dunno what's wrong. *shrugs* I usually take the first swing when they ask if I've had any problems with the jetta and most of the time I get teary-eyed from being all flustered. I've gotten my ass whooped over this issue and I try to change the subject most of the time when I see it going there. Please drop the subject or at least tell me who started the reliability thread.

;)

You guys are right, vdubs have had problems with reliability issues but hopefully those have been resolved with the minimum wage increase down in mexico. My other vdubs took me to the cleaners however I've had no problems yet with my jetta. I think once you've owned a vdub, no matter how unreliable it was, it draws you back with their styling & performance.

Yeah they do have problems that will make you mad... I got a check engine in my Jetta and a window regulator problem (lucky me I on got 1 some I know had all for windows) but I still love vws. My jetta is a 99 and has 113000 miles on it but still feels brand new. One thing I also like with the vws is the classy of it. No offence for the other japs car like civic and integs but they don't have the classy look when you're in a High Maintenance area like Beverly Hills hehe here at work those civics and integs doesn't look good on those kind of areas specially if they look like UFOs. Where I live there's too much civics and integs and its too common already unlike the VWs they don't look common it has that BMW kinda like rep... With my MP5 in the other hand it looks unique too... there's not that many in my place and the airdam of our mp5 looks like the M5 airdam hehe I love my VWs and my MP5 (Mazda6 will also look classy)

I used to own a GTI and that car just put a grin on my face everytime I drove it. Yeah. It had interior pieces break off. A couple of times I'd see a screw or a bolt on the floor and had no clue where it came from until something it was suppose to hold popped out! I remember having to tow the car back to the dealership 24 hours after I bought it because it wouldn'st start. And the list goes on. But man! All was forgiven as soon as I drove it.

Would I own a VW again? Probably not because the Japanese make better cars like the P5 for example. In fact, the P5 reminds me so much of my old GTI except it's better in every way, yet similar in the way it puts a big, stupid grin on my face!
