This is what over the counter wax can do!

MS3 GT Black Mica w/nav
NXT paste wax is all this is and having used the liquid form I can say the paste form is 10x better when used with a microfiber wax applicator.

Windows all done with vinegar on a cotton rag then buffed with microfiber for a perfect streak free shine.

Took much longer to do but came out much better then the liquid version of NXT. No clay bar needed yet this all just from an over the counter wax that cost much less then the stuff I have seen linked to around here. The liquid form lasted a while and as a matter of fact I just wanted to wax it again for fun but it didnt really show signs of needing a wax after 4 washes and 4 weeks.

At $16 or so bucks for this stuff I am sold and using Meguiars speed detailer keeps it looking just like this for a good amount of time between washes.

Car is 2.5 months old with 3400 miles and so far no asshole door dings. I tend to park way the hell away from human beings and so far so good. Cant help the randomn rock chips in the windshiled and on the hood/bumper but what I do is run around with a Sharpie and fill them in so they are less visable. Thats the benefit of a black car to be able to use a Sharpie, lol.

Well here you go with the pics a freshly waxed paint and wheel job all done by hand.

looks good man. i personally like mothers reflections for dark cars. i think nxt wears off too fast. i haven't waxed my speed with it yet, so i'm not sure if i'll continue to use it. i can't believe you use a sharpie on your car though. ghetto.

hey the sharpie comes out better then the touch up paint I bought. It may not match color perfect but it lays flat and doesnt gunk up like the touch up paint.

It works great for small touch ups, I would find one in your color and try it.

My results with the NXT is that it lasts plenty long and since I like to wax my car every other month be ideal. I held off on buying more NXT until I saw how it worked but I liked it so much I bought it again.

If you think that is badass, go to proper autocare online and check out the Blackfire line.. Wet Diamond carnuba works bitchen on black. If you want the NXT type of wax, look at the Blackfire Polymer stuff.. If you clayed that car, buffed it out using Menzerna Intense & Final Polish, than a glaze, topped off with blackfire wet diamond, i think you will really be impressed.

Its an expensive investment upfront if you dont have the machine, pads and polises. But, in the long term, it pays for itself with unreal amount of compliments and pride.

Sounds like good stuff but from the way NXT works with no costly investments I am more then pleased and will stick with a Saturday arm work out, lol.

I suppose if I had a show car that was not a daily driver I would buy into all that but the paint jobs on these cars isnt all that great and its no show car so I am good with over the counter product.

Honestly I have seen pics on autogeek of amazing shine but dont think that it looks better then what I have just done by hand. Better quality pictures maybe but the car is flawless right now and garaged will stay that way until work on monday then turn to s*** 15 min down the freeway, lol.

PS notice the wifes dirty car parked outside the garage behind mine? LOL, she makes comments all the time how good my car looks so I will go wash hers out of guilt. I take are of both cars but until I bought this new car I wasnt all in to car care so we just took hers to the car wash. Hers need clay bad badly so I will try my hand at that soon.

LOL i hear ya. The paint on my silver MS3 actually looks really good. This is the first car i wont have to color sand before polishing it out. I wanted black mica but couldnt find one with nav installed.

As long as you keep it up every month, the NXT will be ok. It doesnt last long, thats for sure. When we did the autocare day down at Meguires, which is about 20 mins from my house, they asked what i was using. At that time it was Zaino Bros car polish. Thats when they began doing the NXT research. When we went back a year later, i moved onto the Pinnacle waxes and the NXT stuff couldnt touch it. It actually dulled the test panel ( my tailgate ). I was hoping meg's would come out with something new by now.

Haha I got a Black Mica with NAV, lol.

Well I am not sure how to tell how long it lasts but after 1 month the water still beads off and it shines up nice with just some speed detailer. Like I said I waxed it again just for the hell of it but it seemed to me it was still pretty good from the last time.

Meguiars told me to wax every other month for a daily driver and that seems about right for what I like to do. I actually like doing it more often but they said it will start to build up and streak.

I know there are better products out there but its all realative to how long I will keep the car and how much more work it will be to apply more expesive product. I figure 3 years is about how long I plan to keep this car and with what I am doing it should still look killer when that time comes.

The NXT may not shine like the carnubas but from what I have been reading it offers good protection longer and that is what really matters most in my opinion.

I used to totally live by NXT Mcguires. Now its Turtle wax ICE. Oh man that stuff is great. easy on.. easy off.. shines for at least a week now in the rain..

no white residue on black plastics.. even shines those too!

You know the NXT doenst stain the plastics either its pretty damn esay to work with. My buddy did the Ice but I didnt like how it went on like water since you couldnt hardly tell it did much.

With the paste version of NXT man it went on evenly and with some more elbow greese came out much nicer then the liquid stuff.

Is there a paste version ov Ice? I bet that would be better because the liquid s*** didnt do anything for his paint.

Hey Speedgirl it was like 100deg here alos but I had it in the garage. I have to wash the car the night prior and store it inside so I have daylight to work with the next day. Cant wash the car in the sunlight or it will spot like crazy as I already made the mistake of doing once.

I have seen those Mr.Clean water softners but I still dont trust washing a car in the sunlight and the paint should be cool anyhow which isnt possible if you wash it baking in the sun.

PS used back to black from Mothers every now and then on blacks and it works very well.

I can take pictures of the white residue the NXT left on my front bumper, rear bumper and rear spoiler mount.

yes, the turtle wax ice comes in a paste. Its what I am using.

Hmm well I did make a fair attempt to not get it all over my plastics but inorder to get all the paint in the seam between the 2 I know it got some but I have no white stuff from it.

Like I said after a wax I use back to black to make all the plastics shine again and maybe thats why but either way I would use back to black because it really makes all the plastics look new again.

I suppose just about all these different products work great I just happened to pick Meguiars since they have a full product line that I like to use but I cant say its better then Ice or Mothers either.

I usually goto home depot and buy the blue painters tape. That non residue stuff. I tape off any areas i think i may get with unintentional wax. Goes on easy and comes right off. Saves quite a bit of time during cleanup.

I personally use Poor Boys Natty's Paste Wax (blue) for my final coat of carnuba. This is after the EX-P sealant. The result is not only a fantastic shine but I've never seen paint look so deep before. I've had people ask if I had my car painted custom.

Wow this sounds like a great idea actually for tiny knicks and scratches, thanks for the advice(cool)

Let me tell you it works great for the small stuff. I dont care what you do you cant get touch up paint to not look like s***. The Sharpie wont be a direct paint match but it is much better at hiding small stuff then a blob of matching paint.

Hey fellow Speed3ers whats up? I hope this wont be considered as thread hijacking. I mean this is about OTC waxes correct? I would like to know who has tried this stuff or any opinions about it. I found this at the Dollar store for 1.00 for the wax and the wash.
