It could create more clutter if they treat it the same as the other forums; my advice would be to have the Mazdaspeed forum list the same as it currently does on the main page, and when you click on the forum link it opens a sub-section with the different sub-categories. That would keep the main page from being too cluttered, and make the sub pages fully accessible when inside the Mazdaspeed section. The only reason things are so scattered right now is because instead of going to the general Performance Forum for lets say turbo upgrades, the members know that they are more likely to get an answer here...

I'd be interesting in seeing any hard data supporting your sever speed issue you've raised... condensing the information into a sub section as I've listed should only serve to "lighten the load" so to speak. Especially if it reduces the number of duplicate posts.

[edit "Klunk!" :D ]

Wouldn't creating identical but separate sections for the MSP and P5/Sedan forum create even more double posting? I just don't understand why we should make more of the same sections that we already have. While we are at it should we split the P5 forum into its own sub-sections and then make LX/DX/ES forums with the same sub-sections?

It comes down to people using the search button and people posting where they're supposed to. And if they don't, mods should be there to move threads. (Not saying the mods aren't doing their job.)

P.S. The server "speed issue" was more to illustrate a point than really an issue/ Technically, the server has to create and store more database records (new sub-sections) and technically, it makes the database bigger. So technically, the server should be slower due to the larger amount of information to process.

Technically. I doubt it'd make a noticeable difference. Oh nos, my spamz0rs loads in 0.27546 seconds now, instead of 0.27438 seconds. REFUND!111#

agreed, but unfortunately people wont post in the right sections or search, EVER. so maybe by "trying" this out, we could eliminate the confusing mess that is the msp section.

What would make sense is to make the link to the MSP forum take you to a page which links you to the other sub-sections that already exist.

So, you click on Mazdaspeed Protege, it will still have the sub-sections as proposed but they will take you to the apropriate forum section that already exists, i.e. Mazda Forums > Proteges > Mazdaspeed Protege > Audio would take you to Mazda Forums > Tech > Car Audio.

That still eliminates the need for brand new subsections, but will cause people to go to the right forum for once.

I think the best idea would be to change the forum to the way EVOM is set up:

why is there such a bid deal here.. keep it the way it is, everyone act like an adult like we all are, stop the flame wars and s*** and everythign will be cool. i'm 18 and i act more like an adult than a lot of people on this forum. everyone needs to just chill out and enjoy this site for what is was made for, our cars, our pride and joy. anyone in agreement?

I like the MazdaSpeed section...it's like an unlabeled can of soup. I pop in and check it out, some days I get intercoolers, others I get K(C)lunks (new spelling)...still others I get the right size for my new winter tires...hell, I didn't even know I needed winter tires till I saw it in here.

Way easier than having to go look through 6 different sections...not that I don't but easier. Also, still haven't figured out how to get an accurate search result, so I like to just browse.

Just my 2 cents.

if people posted in the right forums or searched rather than posting the same question over and over and over and over again, like i hear they do in other sections, the post count would be much lower ;)

True, but that happens in every forum.

the only thing i can say is to contact enry and antoine and voice your concerns that the msp section needs seperate subdivisions. theyve been told, but for whatever reasons, havent done it.

not to mention, no offense, but the likelyhood of a msp owner posting in the right section EVEN after the seperation would prolly never happen.

So I got this new sport bike...oh wait wrong forum. :D
Hey man this forum is like the great MSP melting pot it all just blends together into a smooshy MSP soup.
So lets mix it up BITCHES! (beer) (fight) (beer)
