Thinkking about the 2004 Autocross season

Well as I have guaranteed myself a 2nd place finish in the season point in HS I am already thinking about next year. By the first event I will have my 3s, but I was wondering what your opinion is on classing. Of course this is just opinion as the SCCA may restructure stock classes again. Under current classing I am thinking the 3s will be an G Stock car, and the 3i will be a H stock car, but what do you guys think.

the 3s is the 170hp one, and the i is the 145hp?

GS sounds about right for the s.

actually, it's right on target for GS:

Civic Si (160 HP)
Focus SVT (170 HP)
Cooper S (160 HP)
Sentra SE-R (165 HP) ...not the Spec V
Impreza 2.5RS (165 HP)

the MP3 can (used to) be competitive b/c of its handling advantage, but the Mini wiped that out.

they won't put the 3s in DS...it would get slaughtered. so it has to go in GS b/c of SCCA's arcane classing system.

how the heck does the focus SVT run GS and I run DS(P) in my MSP?!?!? (And stay competeitive too!)

it's the LSD. same reason the Spec-V and Type-R run in DS...the MSP suspension is good enough to run close to the top in DS (regionally anyway).

rowan, i hear you. my 130hp is not cutting it in HS, esp with 2600 lbs to tote around and friggin Minis and trailered CRXs all over the place. it's a hella 2nd place car, though...(doh)
