hey guys i have a mazda 3s 2008 with 6000 miles on it im thinking of trading it in for a speed 3 how much do u guys think ill get for it its like brand new.... can i even do this?

well depending on where you live it might be better or worse that other areas. personally i think you'll get hosed, badly.

i just bought an 08 3i touring with the alloys, fogs, 5spd, etc. got an extended warranty for bump-bump to 50k miles and they did the fabric and paint treatment with a life of car warranty for 14,5k out the door, 4.9% 48 mos.

the 3i touring value is dirt cheap, and with the 3s in general they are going to be trying to blow them out asap. the 09 3 and 6 are getting a face lift and the factory that makes the 3 is being re-tooled. they will start delivering 09s (3 and 6) to dealers in nov/dec.

you might get them to roll the negitive equity into the speed 3 but they are getting MSRP for them. i know, im going to attempt to buy am 08 speed 3 tomorrow. only bargaining tool i have is that i just bought a 3i and they know im not effn around. they can have a two mazda customer bringing them all in for service for the next few years or not. i told the sales guy today that if they screw me on the speed 3 deal i wouldn't bring the other mazda in even for air in the tires.

good luck. they are great cars and if you like this body style you should go for it.

hey guys i talked the the sales lady that sold me the car wich is my uncles friend and she said i would loose money alot and i wouldnt be able to get a good deal like the one i got i have 0%apr and also said ppl are willing to pay over sticker price for them and her manager would let her go under msrp so im stying with my 3 wooooooooo lol... maybe when im done paying it off 2.5 years more ill get the newer one or if they still make the speed3 very happy with mazda

I would wait. I just traded in my 07 i sport for my mazdaspeed and I was upside down on my loan. I paid the difference since it was not that much ($1400) but I have been paying on it since late 06. Wait at least 2 years before trying to get out of it because the biggest depretiation hits during the first two years.

I had consider trading in my 06 3s hatch for a speed 3 but I considered holding off until the next Mazdaspeed version comes out.

speed 3 but they are getting MSRP for them.
if you pay MSRP for one you're getting hosed royally. you should be paying invoice, maybe slightly above if you don't feel like haggling. the car has been out for 2 years and is at the end of its model run plus has a laundry list of fairly major problems. paying MSRP is ludicrous, if the dealer insists on it go to another dealer.

on topic: any time you trade a car in that early into payments you're gonna get boned. any car that you buy new and trade in while still relatively new you lose a lot of money, the further into payments you are the better off you are but it's still best to keep the car beyond when it's paid off
