CRX Si will feel faster because of the gearing. It has a shorter final drive. The Mazda 2 is geared like a CRX DX.
I'm assuming that the Mazda 2 is heavier than the CRX. True?

That must've been pretty quick. My '88 was autocross prepped (sts2) with koni race shocks, ground control's, tuned ecu, etc. Lots of fun to drive, but not so hot for long road trips. We had a gas shortage in the area so I was forced to daily drive it for awhile, and since high octane was near impossible to find I had to hyper-mile it everywhere. Got 45 mpg that tank. When I sold it, I had 2 offers within 2 hours of posting it and sold it for more than I bought it (and almost for what I had put into it).
