Things you will NOT find on my car.

I know, I'm a newbie...but only to Mazdas and I know what looks good and know what...doesn't. So here's a list of stuff you or I will never find on my car:

1. Washer nozzle lights.
2. Under car neon lights
3. Light up Fuba antennae
4. 4 spoke Enkeis
5. Exhaust tips over 3" in diameter
6. Exhaust systems the size of a grapefruit and larger.
7. Cut springs
8. Vinyl graphics
9. Automatic transmission
10. Wings/Spoilers/Potato peelers, etc.
11. Colourful engine parts (i.e. yellow, red, etc.)
12. Altezzas
13. Unscrewing my turn signal bulbs so they flash faster
14. Chicken wire grills
15. Fade tint - That stuff that is reflective at the top of the window and fades dark towards the bottom.
16. Windshield banners/tacky stickers
17. Clip-on chrome
18. Exhaust systems where the sound is not proportionate to the power of the car (i.e. loud buzzer exhausts)

That is all I can think of now. I am probably making enemies or losing friends, but hey...it's life. It's probably that I think Mazda should be in a different class than Hondas/Acuras and those cheap Pep Boy car kits people put on their 92 Nissans.

And some of you *do* have some of the above on your vehicle. I just hope that as I get more involved in my P5, it will never ever ever have any of the above and it WILL look good.

hey 1st i know you don't give a DAMN lol, but i happen to love the look of carbon fiber, i have more carbon fiber on the exterior/interior of my car than i know what to do with. My Mazdaspeed Axle-Back is a 4'' tip. HKS I believe is not much smaller. I haven't seen many tips smaller than 3", other than stock set-up's.

I made that a flame war to state my feelings so there would be no need for any form of negative comments in some ones threads.

some of that is just a matter of good or bad taste, but others are subjective like tastefully done CF parts and large exhaust tips. Just because it's on a functional part of the car doesn't mean it has to be designed entirely for functionality... I mean if it was like that we would still have fugly glass box halogen headlights and 15 inch steelies on our cars

That didn't make any sense.

How are 15" wheels fuctional perfomance wise, they certainly aren't when handling are desired. Now an overly large exhuast tip has only an appearence "function" and is back to your observation of "bad taste".

In the other thread, you stated you live in the Rice Belt of the world....

no compadre...drive up and down the I-5 corridor one hour north and south of Seattle...THAT will put your area to shame.

As for the carbon fibre hoods...they only look tolerable on black cars. Aroudn here, there have been probably 5 legitimate carbon fibre hoods actually sold, but you'll find thousands of cars with them (re: black primer hoods).

And I agree with the cf statement above and in the other post...it should be one of the last mods to a car to reduce weight, including after the driver

To be honest, they came with the car, my car was a demo car for the dealership that I bought it from. But that doesn't mean that I don't like them.

I agree with everything else, except maybe the colored engine parts.

I completely agree with #18, and #10. I hate that....but do you know what I hate the most? I hate unpainted body kits......that is so stupid....looks retarted.....
