BTW - The biggest thing I've hit (animal wise) was a 8 point buck on the Dulles Greenway going almost 80 mph in my Mazda3 hatch.

Boy did God look out for me. The head of the buck hit the passenger side A pillar and the impact sent him spinning away from the car. His revenge was to dent every single body panel on the passenger side of the car.

I've hit a bird that was just standing in the middle of the road. It was in the shadow of a bridge so I didn't even see it till I was right up on it. It never moved. I looked in my reareview and saw a cloud of feathers behind me.

I've also hit a few rabbits, but that's another story.

Try bird vs motorcycle

Some pretty interesting stories about birds, but here's one you don't hear often... I hit a pigeon on the freeway with my Honda PC 800 motorcycle. I was doing about 65 mph, and it was just walking on the roadway. It looked like it was walking off to the right, so I started to vear left to avoid it. Then, it decided to take flight... in my direction. It bounced off my front faring... OK, exploded off my front faring. Feathers everywhere... it was almost like a cartoon, except for the blood and guts. A few inches higher and it would have hit the windshield, probably shattering it and landing in my face...

I'll take bird vs car anyday over that...
