There is any double din cd player that fit our cars?

I am looking to upgrade my stereo and i went to Best buy the other day.
I looked at a doble din radio which you can select different colors on the display.
Since all my interior lights are red i thought that it would be cool to have it.
Asked one of the guys and he told me it wouldn't fit my car.
Any suggestions??

itll fit its just not made to! lol you can either get creative or theres a dash kit on ebay... i just ordered mine yesterday. it was like 15 bucks! 2000 DX 1.6
i have a Pioneer i bought for 500 last year i had it in my isuzu rodeo 00 and knew i could put it in my protege... i ripped out the bad deck the dealer put in and the pocket. and broke the bar going accross the space and put my DD deck in it just sitting in there right now.

The ;ittle plastic bar that goes across broke last year when i took the complete dash to be painted,so that's not a problem.
I currently have an after market radio,but i like the idea of a double din ;-)

I too have a 1.6 2000 DX. And like the both of you, Im also looking for make my single DIN unit w/pocket into a double DIN unit. Im talked to some guys at stereo shops and they told me that a double DIN unit WILL fit, it'll just take some work. They have to make a custom dash kit, but other than that, unit should fit. What Pioneer unit do you have, Tjk775?

kit I've had my double din pioneer in for the past few years, never had any issues and looks stockish

I am in love with this stereo,this is the one i saw at best Buy.
The good thing about it is that you can change dispaly of colors,blue,green purple,red.
So it will be a nice matching with my red interior shift and gauges.

Good find, Argie. I didn't know a double DIN dash kit existed for us. And pretty inexpensive too. I think I know where Im going now to buy my kit for my Pioneer unit!
