It sure looks like it.

32 people on their list? I doubt they'll get that many Mazdaspeed Proteges for 2003-2003.5.

lol (hand)

I guess they could always make a dealer trade to fulfill those deposits ;

maybe I'll drop by after work today to take a peek, they're only like a couple miles from where I am right now.

Do you just have the one under the cover right now? How long ago did you get it? My dealer hasn't even received the invoices yet, but thinks the cars could be in next week. They're getting 7 orange initially.

Honestly I am not sure whether its a speed or not the GM put it there and no one is allowed to look!!!!!!!! It got put up overnight a couple nights ago. (it was very secrative).

We do have invoices and everything already, and the unveiling Coincides with the official 'arrival date' which is supposed to be the 16th.

heh, so you work at Browns :)

I may drop by at the unveiling, how should I look for you?

All potential dealer contributors should take a leaf out of Riot21's book. Now this is a classy dealer member, joking about selling rather than doing the hard sell and providing some real input. Thanks!

Methinks that is not a Speed in the picture, probably a regular Protege with a fin. I could be wrong but the people I met at the Auto Alliance plant (where the 6 is being built, and where many MSP's have been worked on) told me they are still there and shipping to dealers for a mid-week launch.

my dealer is #1 in the state, in service as well as in volume....
And we are only 3 hours from port in NJ....

But he says he doesnt have invoices or info on exactly how many cars he is getting or exactly when they will be arriving! should i be worried? How could this be? I havent seen their showroom, so i dont know if they have a car sittin there like yours does. What do you think?

My dealer, only Elite in the state, has not received invoices either. PLus he was at an MSP ride and drive this week and they said that they are still installing turbos and are behind schedule. He would not be surprised if it takes another month and puts it at first week of November at the earliest.

Also, the car underwraps is a standard Protege with a wing on it. He told me Mazda asked him to do it too but he thought that was low class without a guaranteed delivery date. He does not want to raise expectations with his customers.

omfg..........no way. november? ASDF!!!!!!

i hate this! why dont we know whats going on!

some dealers saying the cars will be here middle of next week. But then some of the biggest and most prominent dealers not thinking it will be until the end of the month/next month.

I cannot imagine that other dealers would get the cars before the top volume and elite dealers in the state......but at the same time I cannot imagine that these non #1 dealers are all lying about the cars getting here next week/the week after or whatever......but at that SAME time.........how could our elite dealers not know Friday about cars that will be delivered the following Wednesday?

And in the middle of all this! we have riot! who is a dealer, who we know is NOT just hyping it up, who says he has INVOICES for the cars he is getting!!!

ASDFGGF>HDGDFHFd............eKQF$$@#Y*#G(*V)UREOVI#(*IFJQO

(flash) (flash) (flash) (flash) (flash) (flash) (flash) (flash) (flash)

WOW!!!! :wtf: He sounds defensive!!! LOL

oh Slug420 I am gonna set up a new thread called Q/A and I DO have the answer to your question keep an eye out!!!!!

Defensive? I don't get your point.

Is the car in your dealership a Mazdaspeed Protege? I would bet it is not. That is a low-class publicity stunt if I ever saw one, no wonder the manager won't let anyone see it since he knows it is a cheap stunt too.

Has your dealership sold any MSP's to members of this board, and now armed with invoices have you been able to give VIN numbers so that your customers can arrange financing and insurance?

Is your dealership guaranteeing delivery on the 16th?

I am sorry if this questioning is direct, I am trying to figure out what is hype and what is reality. I have a lease expiring on Nov 1st and need to decide if I extend a month or can turn in the car. This wait and see game with no real info is strange. The fact that it is Friday and cars are supposedly to be released on the 16th and many dealers do not have the necessary paperwork to take delivery and sell their cars.

Fact of the matter is that IT is NOT a publicity stunt. Simply an effort to advertise the fact that we are a MazdaSpeed dealer, people see it on the street and come in asking for info. You're missing it completely if you think it as a stunt. (Not intended that way).

Fact is I have all my information ready. NO one can EVER guarantee delivery and if they do they are risking alot!! There are far too many factors that come into play that the car will not be here on time. For your information a couple of my customers have already recieved financing and are just waiting for the car. As am I, and believe me I can't wait either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Your questioning is direct (I'm cool with it) but when it comes down to it Different region diferent everything!!!!!! I can answer for myself and thats about it. I hope this clears some things up as I am not here as a dealer (that was a different thread) but as a fellow MAZDA Enthusiast!!!
