The snail went bye bye.

I'll stay on the ship!!!!

I always did my own oil changes. Like I said when I first posted it was just the anger talking. I was not being rational at all. My B.A in Philosophy did not teach me to make decisions based on anger. Anger is not rational. No matter the situation we must first think and weigh out the options. I'll just take the car to the dealer and get it fixed. No car is perfect. Why would I want to get rid of something that I enjoy sooooo soooo much. I dont think my friend that has a built motor on a 2005 VW Gti which dynoed at 248 wheel hp can beat my Speed3 with just the MS CAi. With that said I will stay on the ship.

Glad to hear it. It's a worthy car to keep around.

Its not mazdas fault. Hitachi-Warner built the turbo. They're probably just as pissed finding out they got sent bad turbos since now they have to spend the money to fix them.

People with very expensive cars just have so many more that they don't say much when one breaks. It's a pride thing I'm sure. So many customers I've had always name some crazy high price they "paid" for their car like: "I can't believe a $40,000 car would have this kind of problem" (referring to a base model 4x4 Grand Cherokee). So forth and so on, so yes, every frickin brand and model break, it just sucks when it happens to you and I've been there more times than I can count. As long as it's fixed right and drives great again, you'll be fine.

i am also "quick draw" with the anger. do you guys think it will be worth the effort to call mazda and do some serious bitching and moaning? personally, i would try to parlay it into some free swag. squeaky wheel.

car companies hate bad press.
my bro bought a boat from a company that blew it, and i wrote a letter in his behalf. we got all sorts of free service and products.

serious man stop bitching every car has hickups our seals suck. rather have that then a bad wrx tranny or a bad car all the way around like a ss/sc or a srt-4... and theres a solution put a gt30r in and be done with it

Maybe you should read the whole thread before bashing someone.

Good deal...I was seriously hoping you'd re-think buying a lease return STi. Glad you're keeping it. You probably won't have any further problems...the odds are with you now!!

Its not mazdas fault. Hitachi-Warner built the turbo.

In that case he should trade the car in immediately since the new turbo will also be made by Hitachi Warner and it may fail as well. [/sarcasm]

Who is at fault has nothing to do with the issue.

all that I can say is that Mazda has produced some "rock-solid" MS3's.

Mine has +40K miles on it, it gets run pretty hard everyday, tracked about every 2 months, and no "real" problems.

My thermostat did act up about a month ago and was replaced under warranty. This past week it through another Thermostat related CEL code and the dealer replaced it with another new part.

They said if it throws a similar CEL again, then Mazda recommends replacing the PCM (ECU carputer).

Even so, nothing has ever stopped the car or interfered with my daily driving activities.

The forum is a great avenue for ppl to vent / b**** about troubles they're having with their vehicles. All the problems / issues we here about on here probably isn’t a very good representation of how the MS3 is holding up as a whole.

I have almost 16k miles on mine is just 9 months and it's running better than ever with no issues. *Knocks on wood*
