The Slammed Life

Well most stance guys have really high preload so they don't rub in the fenders as much as with out preload. people use preload to get the right stiffness out of their coilovers. there is a happy Medium of preload to help u handle better. Most of the time for track use its not goods to have a lot of preload cause u will be bouncing everywhere and not handle very well at all.

yeah I kinda assumed all that I was wondering if any harder than that "happy medium" (which is usually pretty small amount, for example my recommended preload is 4mm. and the car starts getting quite bouncy as you push more than 15mm preload) is bad for the shock/springs after awhile?

Anyone who is really slammed (pulled locking collars/perches or collars all the way down) isn't running preload. Stiffer springs keep the fender from contacting the wheel not preloading the springs. Preload only makes the suspension behave more consistently and bounce less over bumps at cruising speeds. I haven't seen too many coilovers, at least for a mazda3, that go to the ground with preload still on the springs. With my BC coilovers and 135mm 10k springs the car was slammed as hell but when I added preload for winter mode it raised the car up a solid 1.5-2".

U raise ur car that much dang man I couldn't do that. I have 0 preload as well I just up graded my springs it's a better way of fixing stuff

I raised it more by removing my BCs and putting my old H&Rs back on. I'm not trying to get stuck in the snow this winter. Definitely not qualifying for this thread right now. Also trying to decide if I want super legit wheels for next season or if I want another set of enkei rp03s in 18x10 +22 with wide (255 minimum) tires on them and possibly a custom supercharger setup.

I'm undecided right now. It will still be low. Option 1 is stay slammed and get kick ass wheels and stay stanced with the flares. Option 2 is get good lightweight wheels, wide tires, and build a supercharger setup. Option 2 is a lot more expensive and I already have one boosted/functional car to mess around with. I can't make up my mind.

CRG I started the page and add the members. I would suggest you look at the first post before assuming you are in..
There needs to be a reference pic preferably with a 12 oz soda can next to the side skirt both front and rear. Rake is fine but highest end needs to meet the required 3" some exceptions can be made based on you being the first static 2 trying to join but there is a 2 on bags that can lay frame so 3" shouldn't be asking too much for static

Yeah that crossed my mind too. If I go that route it will be low on wide wheels but not stanced. Basically I am not looking to beat up my fender flares.

Dude I beat my fender flares a bit but its all good man and super charged stance sounds so damn raw do it lol

Yeah sorry, I may have worded that weird. Didn't mean to shove myself in here, I was asking what I would need to do to get in here. Sorry about the mix-up on my part.

And fair enough.. I'll get to it then

Ya man slamm ur s*** to the floor like I did ask the guys how long it took me it was crazey how long it took me to to get on the og slammed thread that was so hard back then. Now it's easy cause back then u had to be at least and inch and a half off the ground

I guess I'll be pioneering the way for the 2's! Static wise of course. Gonna make all day tomorrow: "figure out how to get the car on the floor day" lol.

hmmm

Looks like about 24.5-25" from the top of the fender arch to the ground in the front and 25" in the rear. Low yes but slammed definitely not. What's it dropped on?

yes sir! and yea yea i know yall are gonna be like no no thats unsafe and if you hit a big enough bump you will calaps. no its about how far you go that makes it unsafe, to tell you the truth it rides fuken good an handles so much well through turns and bumps it feels like im on coilovers lol and also depends on what condition your shocks are in

^^ who are you trying to impress? Stop trying so hard. Do it proper so people won't give you s***.

sorry if I was harsh, just being honest.
