Good report, one of those few videos where they really showcase the Mazda5 space and versatility.

14 toilet paper bags fit in there, that's a lot of sh*t, literally :D

Auto enthusiasts can be a finicky lot. While the United States gets an enormous selection of the finest cars and trucks made today, some buyers just aren't happy with that. A quick look across the pond finds the Ford Mondeo, Fiat 500 and the new VW Scirocco, all cars we Yanks don't get. And then there are the family haulers like the Ford C Max and Citroen C4 Picasso that are MIA in the USA too. Why doesn't America get those clever and creative vehicles? Perhaps we just don't want them. The Mazda5 is proof of that. This slick rig has been on sale here for a few years now and its unique qualities simply go unnoticed by most shoppers.

That's good to know. The last time I bought 14 bags of TP, I had to make 4 trips with my Camry! (drive2)

Thanks for the story. Good report, cool video.

I had no idea the navigation system was motorized.
So it can hid away when not being used I guess?

I didn't get pix, but I manage to get 2 4x4 sheet of plywood into the middle seats. It's too bad the cargo area is just a tad small to get a 4' width into it, but still another versatile use.

Also the 2+2+2 seating has inspired a variation on the old "Shotgun" game where everyone scrambles to not sit in the back (if there are more than 4 onboard). Either way, it is my family rig for the next 5+ years.

damn, I did not know there is an extra room in the glove box compartment where you can put things such as a laptop!

thanks for the link!
