The RX-8 is going...

I'm following through with my Miata plan, and so the RX-8 has to go. I've been putting it back to stock (and some have already reaped the rewards :) ). Will post an FS thread in a week or so.

The plan is to hunt for a used NC Miata (2006 preferably) throughout the winter. Selling the RX-8 soon (so that I am not trying to sell it in the winter). In the meantime, I'll be cruising in the new-to-me yellow P5 (of Bruce's fame).

It's hard to let go of the 8, but with the NC it doesn't make sense to keep both. Lots of great high-revving times in the blue machine! :)

Again congrats bro. Much time was spent on the decision I know. Everyone should own a convertible in their lifetime. I know I miss it at times. It'll be fun to mod the new car. More Mazda meets. Great thing is that your staying within the Mazda family. Woot!

Speaking of which, Oleg picked up the old girl tonight. I changed out the EGR and she started right up. Oleg called me after he got home complaining the car wouldn't do 8k rpm.

I am happy to see her go to a good home.
 
Welcome back to nePoc Oleg. Let me know if you're gonna transfer over all your audio gear...I've got a set of A-pilars from my P5 with the holes cut in them, they're yours if you want em....and I've also got a subwoofer box for sale :)

The stock radio is underwhelming. :) I'm probably going to do some audio, but nothing grand, maybe just use some of the equipment I have laying around at home. Those A-pilars sound like a good idea.

I got some freebies thrown in with the purchase: a whole tree worth of needles! (which I just rinsed out :) ).

I just got done with some basic cleaning. Vacuumed the interior, shined some trim and tires, cleaned the windows (the rear glass needed major love).

Going to take the P5 to NYC tomorrow, curious to see what kinda mileage I get with my driving.

would be a bit wild...but not crazy from a doing it point of view i don't think.. Like i said, its been done before - so it'd be doubtful that you'd run into the problems involved with trailblazing...

I recall one street driven one on the local drag racing circuit here a few years back...was mighty mighty quick... and road registered if memory serves :)

I love the stock exhaust note on my NA.. But a turbo 13b in my NA would be nuts..

(sorry to continue derailing this thread...but...)

You could just drop an NA 13B in...impressive power for 1.3L of motor...and you can't beat the note of a worked J-ported (or peripheral ported if you are insane) NA rotary....

and why stop at 13B? 20B would likely fit (last time i looked under the hood of an MX5 there was heaps of room... And guys have chucked KLZE's under the hood and i'm almost CERTAIN they chew up more room than a 20B)

Good luck getting it past any right thinking environmental control officer though hehe.
