The Pro 5 Welcome Package

Protege 5
Did you all get a Pro 5 Welcome package a couple of weeks after buying your car? I got one yesterday and was so impressed/excited about such a little thing. I just think it was really cool for Mazda to send me a bottle of touch up paint plus all those other little things in there. Makes me love my car even more because of tiny perks that come with it. Never heard of any other companies doing things like that! My boyfriend has a new Jetta and was a bit jealous! Hehe...:D

wha? welcome package? touch up paint? I have only received some colorful brochures that talked about the extended warranty plans. no paint... you sure the package is not from your dealer?

I got the welcome back. It looked like Mazda packaging but the return address was the dealer and the dealer's business card was inside. The dealer might have thrown in the touch-up paint.

When I picked up my P5 the dealer gave me the touch up paint and said if you need more just ask. As for the welcome package. I never got anything like that. All I got was the dealer survey thing.

I joined up on the mazda webpage for "Mazdatown" they sent me cupons for discount on mazda parts, and such.

Yep

I got one, and I was pretty impressed as well. It had a quickstart guide to all the features in the car w/scheduled maintenance intervals, a thing of touch up paint, and a brochure of dealer options inside. I would have been happier if i hadn't bought a bottle of touch up paint along with 10 OEM filters from Trussville mazda , but hey, now I have two! :)

Come to think of it... it was the dealer's return address, so maybe it came from just them. It came in this package that was specifically created as a welcome package- designed to hold all the things like the touch up paint - not just a brown cardboard box with all the stuff thrown in. I actually odered touch up paint a couple days before I got the package just so I could have it around, but now I'm going to cancel that order because I got it for free! Pretty cool... Guess they look up your file to see what P5 you bought and prepare the package specifically for you. :D

Yes i love it

ya i got that welcome pkg it is kinda cool unexpexted and the little stuff do make a diffrence..

I was shocked when I got mine. I was not expecting anything like that from the dealer.
My roomate put his money down on a Mini and they sent him a cool package. I believe it had stickers, a shirt , a pile of brochures and a little toy version of his car. That made my package look pretty bad.

YEP YEP YEP....I got one too. :{D and appreciated it too...even if the little bottles of touch paint aren't much....they were FREE!!! and I think they charge you like $3.50 US for the silly things at the dealer.....so that was $7 I saved....and didn't drive the 100 miles round trip to get them either! :D

I got one too!

I'm like the other guy that went and purchased a bottle of touch-up paint, not knowing my dealership was going to surprise me like that. Since this was my first new car purchase, I wasnt expecting anything like that/nor have I ever heard of anything like that. It was a nice surprise, and well done. That quick start guide was very helpful as well.

That other guys Mini package sounded sweet also! That is the one other car I am really looking forward to checking out. Mini was not represented at the Philly Int'l Auto Show  But it's ok. I did happen to see one on the road going the opposite way. They should be fun to see on the road. I know their billboards are kinda clever (when you can read the entire thing).

But that welcome package was pretty cool...Right on Mazda!

My first choice was the MINI, but when I found out that there was a waiting list of 600 people before me, I looked around for other things. Glad that happened or I would never have test driven my Pro. Still think the Mini is really cool, but didn't want to wait forever to get my new car. Maybe I'll get that next time around, which won't be for a long while. Wish we got a t-shirt like them though...I need more pj's!

Welcome Kit

The welcome kit is sent after you send in your dealer survey. (I thought it was sent by Mazda North American Operations). I have been trying to get mine for over a month (I bought my Protege 5 on November 1). They put my address in the computer wrong, then my paperwork was lost... I still haven't received a dealer survey.

If you didn't get the kit, or the touch up paint was missing, give Mazda Customer Relations a call, maybe you'll have better luck: 1-800-222-5500

i always get gipped!

i didn't get no paint or anything but the mazdatown thing. was it only p5's?

I received the welcome package with touch-up paint after I sent in the dealer survey. Too bad that I already bought the paint for $7. I also received in the mail a pair of cool Kenneth Cole sunglasses (that already broke) after test driving a Mazda and filling out a post card. Beat that! :p

I never recieved that package. But about two weeks after I got my Protege 5, my mom bought a 626 and she got the package you all are talking about. Cant explain that..same dealer and sales person. Oh well. Peace

WTF? You guys got touch-up paint and everything? You know what Mazda sent me? A box of cookies!!! SERIOUS. Those kinda cookies in those big blue cylindrical cans. The Swiss or Danish or whatever cookies. But in a white/blue Mazda can. And they taste HORRIBLE, even the ones with sugar coating don't have taste  . And they sent some contest to win a Miata, but that's it... I want touch-up paint!

You are so funny! I can't say I'd want those cookies, but the sunglasses would have been nice! I didn't send in my survey yet, but I got the package anyway. Maybe certain dealers do it differently. Anyway, if more people knew what they could get for filling out a survey, then more people would do it. Most of the time I just throw them away. The package, however, put me in a good mood, so I guess I'll take the ten minutes to fill this thing out. I think that you guys who didn't get your pacckages should just go ask for one. I'm sure the dealers can hook you up if they ever want you to refer new people to them!

Mazda Customer Relations forwarded my request for the "Welcome Packet" to their Marketing Department which in turn has forwarded my request to the fulfillment house to see what is going on!

I did receive a calendar from my dealer--they took a digital picture of my husband and me standing in front of the dealership with the new P5. The pic is laminated onto the calendar.
