The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I was having a good old time driving the 7 around last night. Didn't have any issues other than stupid people that shouldn't have been out driving. I love how they'd whip out in front of you and proceed to go 5-10mph.

My mom's drive way was horrible, but i went through it w/o any issues. Traction Control kept applying the brakes and slowing me down, but still made it through (experiment). Turned Traction Control Off on the way out & didn't have to try as hard. My mom's explorer has 2 bad rear wheel bearings & is out of commission. (took it to Bates on 113 past Will's place) yesterday. So, my mom's only other car is a 2wd fusion. There's no way she'd get through her driveway without breaking something. So she parked her car at my place & i took her home in the fusion. Yes my Bumper/Frame/Platsic Skid-Plate was plowing the driveway a little bit.

When we took the explorer down to bates, there was an accident on baumhart & garfield roads. looks like a guy was coming from west heading east on garfield towards baumhart & figured since he had awd he could stop on ice. Needless to say, Huge Oak Tree & telephone +1 CUV/SUV 0

If the tempratue is -10, salt will not work at all! the roads in Parma are not bad at all! Made to work with no issue at all!

Teeheehee, we're sitting at -13. With the wind chill -33. Our roads were so covered in snow yesterday that no one came or left from our neighborhood. Awesome state of emergency status throughout half of Indiana. My cousin in Florida said they issued a warning about the 40* temps down there hahaha.

Its almost like its too cold to snow here. It is just really windy I could feel it coming through my windows... They are only 8 yrs old, guess its time to start saving for those. I did insulate the garage with some left over stuff I found in the attack. Put a heater in there for last night so the cars didn't get too too cold

Bad picture but eh. drifts were up to my waist in places.

2. The truck has no antifreeze in it, apparently its just (or mostly) water so, it frozen. I have no idea what this does to my water pump...

If it's truly frozen you may have more issues to worry about than your water pump. Water expands as it freezes and if it has nowhere to go it's going to break/crack whatever it's in. Hopefully there's some residual anti-freeze in there because the worst-case scenario is you just cracked your engine block. Defintely check under the engine if/when it ever gets back above freezing.

We're up to a whopping 5 degrees down here, which is a 10 degree improvement over yesterday. It's supposed to get up to 10 degrees by 4 PM so maybe I'll go out and work on the RX7 some.

The block seems fine, went to Marc's work to flush the system. Got most of it out and put straight antifreeze in (1.8 gallons). The heater works now, ran it for about half an hour. Will have to do a proper flush eventually.

its a v6 f150, those fuckers are indestructible LOL. my dads old truck finally died with 300k+ and thats cause my cousin totaled it in a ditch. LOL the things that truck lived through.....

Finally I have net again at work. Area wide outages ftl. The FC barely started this morning. My prosport gauge was yelling at me for oil temp. Didn't stop till it ran for 15 minutes and got over 0*F. The bad is I bumped the drivers mirror this morning walking around the car, and the housing decintegrated into a million pieces.

Signed up for pelotonia 50 miles again this year. Even have my own fancy url! pelotonia.org/nathanielduncan

Civic is still frozen up. May have to do a thermostat replacement in these temps... Ugh.

No. 14" wheels won't fit over the sport brakes. BUT, I think the Civic is cooperating now. Fingers crossed at least.

The unicorn won't start and I don't want to crack the hood trying to open her up :(

No issues with the miata besides the manual steering being exceptionally heavy and a slightly longer crank, but it started! Woohoo

slow day in here, I'm only working a half-day and hopefully getting some Arepazo for lunch.
