See, back in my day, A/C was a factory option in cars. My first 3 cars didn't have A/C and I'm still here to tell the tale. Just use the heater or crack the windows. I never really liked/used A/C anyway so while doing the swap we pulled all the system components. Why? Well, you know the answer. It's in vinyl on my dashboard. Because Rice Car!

I didn't know you even knew how to drive a manual? Maybe I've just lucked out. Heck, the black P5 (223k miles) and MS6 (152K miles) both still had their original clutches in them. But that's all due to previous owners being awesome drivers, I had nothing to do with it.

Hows your clutch and Mazdaspeed flywheel holding up now?

I've been trying to break myself of the bad habit of resting my foot on the clutch between shifts and get used to using the dead pedal but like I've said, never had any clutch issues in the 13 years I've been driving manual transmissions.

Mazdaspeed clutch and flywheel are around 50k now, still working flawlessly.
thats one habit im glad i broke very early with the second truck. since then, the Accord, Cougar and 3 ive always used the dead pedal in between shifts.

I was looking for a manual trans for my neon in the junkyard once and found a neon that had nothing wrong with it, body was perfect.. I couldn't figure out why it was even in the junkyard... take trans off, the clutch literally disinegrated. It looked like someone took fiberglass strands and haphazardly just threw them around in the bellhousing. I think the clutch died and they junked the car. DAFUQ!

Windows? What are those? They sound pesky.


I hate AC. When I got my Smart, the dealer had 0 Smarts without AC, apparently no one buys them w/o so they order them all with it. Which honestly, when it was warm and humid out, that car was like a teeny oven inside with the windows up. But I still don't like AC.

Actually, yeah. My first three cars all had manual windows. But they were all Civics so i could reach the passenger side window from the drivers seat. Aint no way I could reach way over there in Fatty. haha

MSM lost its AC when it met "the deer." Shop the car was fixed by couldn't find all the pieces so they never finished the work. There have been many times that I wish I had A/C in that car. The biggest times are any time I get stuck in rain with it. Fogs up sooo fast. I can't be in a very hot car for very long. I fall asleep almost immediately.

I always liked the AC with the Protege. I got better mileage running the A/C on a highway trip than I ever did with windows down, at the same speed. Usually 34 w/ AC and 32 without.

Being a husky Italian, I need my A/C. When it's the right temperature, I'll have the windows open. most of the time though, the air is cranked.

I know the difference between engine oil & gear oil. I also said i left the plastic skid plate cover off for a few days & noticed 2 pools/wet spots under the front diff. They're saying my cartridge filter wasn't tight & causing the oil to pool on the skid plate under the the diff, but when i said even with the skid plate off that doesn't make any sense. Then they busted out the $95 charge

That was the purpose of the certified used warranty & the extended protection plan. I guess wanting the car not to rust like my fukus did is not recommended by mazda

They now said that there's seepage coming from the pan on the transmission. They're ordering me a new pan and are going to use a silicon gasket to seal it back up. It's on order & should be here sometime monday. This is covered under the Certified Used Warranty so far. Now they felt 'bad' that i called them out on the degreasing price & said they would only charge me for the 1/2 of the actual labor. so it should be around $50 for that.

Butt dyno proven too! At least the car felt like it accelerated better, oh wait I deleted a whole drive belt for A/C and PS. Back in the day powersteering was a option, back when we had manual racks...

I used to be a no A/C guy but why? I would rather keep creature comforts on my DD and even some fun vehicles and just bump up the power or lose weight in other areas. Speaking of which, if you lose 10-20lbs as a driver (which I could stand to lose about 40-50lbs) you've probably done yourself better than ditching the A/C. Personal preference but idk, I like my A/C.

I want better ECT's, less weight, more room for L2AIC and Koyo Rad. No brainer, plus I never use AC since the car idles like poop with it on w/4" maf.

s*** I forgot about idle and a 4 inch intake. I just sold my 3.5... At east sho doesn't have to worry about puddles anymore and has a man intake now
