The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

he said the same in terms of performance and price. im probably near those numbers right now with a hypertech, downpipe, tip and sri, and hpfp internals.

with the same mods on the ST the MS3 would be well over 400 whp

pretty sure he was comparing stock for stock... not modded vs modded

You are correct.

maybe to you, but the modding/aftermarket is still not the majoirty, some people actually buy the cars and leave em as is...

And correct again...

:D The bottom line is you can't use modded vs modded as a basis for comparison. Just as an example, of all those MS3s at the meet yesterday how many had a BT? 1 that I know of...

I'd love to see you make that comment at a meet like yesterdays where more than half the cars are MS3s.

I bought the MS3 since I was interested in buying a new Mazda that I could occasionally take to the track. Their 'sports cars' at the time were the MX-5 and MS3. I already have Miata and the MS3 is a much more practical car for about the same price as a MX-5, also I'm a turbo junkie. I considered the ST, but the e-diff killed it for me. The MS3 was a successful car, which is a good thing. Calling it a dime a dozen has a negative connotation.

Will everyone knows that will never happen, i mean its easy to hide behind a computer.

One of the unfortunate side effects of the internet I suppose. :(

Calling it a dime a dozen has a negative connotation.

It depends on your point of view. It's definitely a good thing that they are so popular. But if you're looking for something unique that you don't see very many of, it's not the car for you.

I agree, I'm glad the MS3 has blown up in popularity. This means the availability of parts has increased and prices start going down too. It also means that tuners are pushing the platform and engine to the extreme, so we get to see some awesome builds.

If you want a unique car, look for a car with limited production numbers.

It's still hard to deny that stupid smile the 2nd gen MS3 has.
It's not just the MS3, it was Mazda's styling.

It's a bold design the people either love or hate.
