The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Never will I have only liability. no no no no. I am greatful I had full coverage on my blue msp.

yeah i agree... i learned that after wrecking my first car, granted it was an 800 dollar 5 color POS beater truck BUT when 16 and you bought it yourself, its tough to recover from that working 20 hours a week at min. wage haha after that i was always willing to pay the extra for full coverage. also helps being capt slow and having a clean driving record haha :P

And as far as I can tell, nobody even lists a lower control arm. The ball joints aren't replaceable in the control arm, just for S5's. What the crap. I'm not shelling out 560 bucks to mazda or mazdatrix

Were the miata control arms 560 bucks though?

I'm still trying to track down some aftermarket company that makes some. Unfortunately they are solid aluminum. The S4 has a ball joint that can unbolt and be replaced.

AWR has a version that replaced the rear bushing with a needle bearing setup :) Let me know if you ever find something though. I'm not in need of a replacement but it's nice to be prepared. I wonder if you can swap to the S4 control arms. Not cheaper initially but definitely if you ever have to replace the ball joints again.

What do you guys consider a "clean record"? Phen, you claimed the ditch and gaurdrail incidents on your insurance and Levi, didn't someone rear-end you that you claimed?

I had a claim about 6 years ago in my Civic when a lady missed her turn, stopped and backed into me. And my last speeding ticket was about 4 years ago and I pay $82.00/month for the MS6 with full coverage and a $500 deductable.

Increase your deductible and the premium will go down..........do you have renters insurance? If you combine that with your car insurance ( same carrier) it will go down more. When you get married it will go down again......lots of ways to save money

Chris, do you want a SSAFC for your MSP? mine is out of my car and I wanted to offer it to our members, before I placed it on the entire site tonight.

i guess it depends if you are talking about the "abstract" or "public" record...

"abstract" covers everything since the first day you started driving, "public" is the last 3 years for traffic violations, and 5 years for accidents (which you were ticketed) and this is what Insurances use in PA as far as i know

The way I see it, if the car is worth less than $5k.... Liability it is.

I haven't figured out what to do with the green miata yet.

Good point but I'm keeping full coverage on my P5 due to my commute. 20 miles one way on the highway so anything can happen. A few years back when I was hit and run by the truck driver, it paid off....along with having full-tort and coverages stacked. For full coverage on both the P5 and 3 along with an insurance policy on the wife my monthly premium is $155 with $500 collision/$100 comp. deductibles. We also have our homeowners with State Farm so that helps.

in ohio when you pay for your abstract, you only get the last 3 years.

If I could get my record since I started driving I would totally have a copy by now.

Forgot to add: accidents only go on if the police were involved, so as far as the state is concerned I have none in the last 3 years ^_^

But with my record, I probably could have had more than half of your cars value in the bank instead of insurance having it. Make sense?

thats like the cigarette and ferrari meme/quote. so no it doesnt make sense :p

For those of you who don't know, I'm dealing with some family issues, nothing serious just annoying so I'm having to take to measures. The MSP and MSM are up for sale, I'm waiting to hear back on the MSP but if it falls through I'll be taking offers. The MSM will be on craigslist shortly. If anybody is interested let me know.

Guardrail was long ago enough that it's no longer applicable. The ditch went under comprehensive because of a technicality that I won't post on a public forum. If you look at my drivers license record, no tickets, no accidents, no points. That's what I mean.

PA technically has 6 different ones you can request. although the Microfilm and Cerified Microfilm i dont really consider different from each other
Basic information: Includes name, address, driver number, date of birth, and license type.
Three-year record: In addition to the basic information, this record also includes traffic violations and departmental actions (suspensions or revocations) within the past three years.
Ten-year record: Same information as a three-year record, only for 10 years. This request can be made for employment purposes only.
Certified record: This record contains all of the basic information as well as the driver's entire record.
Microfilm document: You can request records from specific time periods on microfilm.
Certified copy of microfilm document: Same as above, but certified.

thats why i asked him, for every intent and purpose PA is 3 years BUT you have the ability to request a full record, thats why i asked for specifications
my 3 year record is clean, but full record is not haha

it DOES make sense when you put it like that, if you look at my miata build spreadsheet lol.

Pablo, hope all is well. If you need anything be sure to let us know how we can help.

Thanks guys, for now I just need to unload the cars so I have enough resources to resolve the situation so if you can spread the word it would be appreciated. I'm keeping the truck since it's almost paid off, hopefully I can look at something else in the fall or spring.
