I used to drive 60 miles one way to work 5 days a week and on top of that I did a lot of driving for work on top of the commute. I was averaging like 30-35k miles a year for a couple years. Now I'm doing a normal amount of driving.

I haven't checked the thread for a while but I have to comment on this. I bought the speed 3 with 44k miles on it June 2011. It now sits at 89000. The Probe that I bought in February 2012 had 196k on it and now has 218k. 65k miles in 18 months.

I think (Phen could confirm) my commute is around 50 miles/day. On top of that I just go places after work and occasionally up to Mentor (80mi round trip). And the occasional down south trip.

I dunno. I haven't really "gone driving" in the smart just to do it, but I ran the valley all the time in the 2.

Smart gets 32 mpg combined, and that's 80-90mph on the highway and 50-55 in the city, plus my throttle inputs... Which aren't like most people's I guess. I believe a normal person could get 40+ easy in the Smart car.

Pretty close. It's about 20 miles to work, depending on which route you take to get to 8.

I feel you on that... I bought my Camry on May 21st of this year... I drove it off the lot with 5 miles on the odometer.... it now has 15,690...

I would love to have a "normal" work commute...

NICE! That reminds me of when I worked in a fab shop. It was really neat to take a block of metal and make stuff. I'm with Evan, it makes my "re-purposing" or making something work look like lego's.
