The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

I think Ivan, Josh/Steph/Sophia and I are all out for Menchies tonight. Boo. :(

Anyone know the strength differences between forged rods and H beam rods made from 4340 steel. I'm assuming the main thing is weight, but I really have no idea? Help :)

It depends on what material rods are forged

also if the 4340 is heat tempered or not. There are many variables. Forging is much more predictable than something cast and reacts to heat treatment much better.

I'll just give you a link.

^I was trying to compare Pauter forged rods vs K1 H beam rods (they are heat treated)

Gotcha. That was the info I was looking for. I don't plan on going crazy on boost, but I would rather not want to replace something again after I rebuild the whole motor. K1 should work nicely for what I have planned. Thanks.

Don't forget the pics when you put em in :)

I'd come, but I've been driving around a lot and using too much gas. I'm just gonna get some takeout from Barroco after work and chill

I have, they're OK, mostly disappointed when it didn't look like the advertisement they had next to the bridge. I'd rather have a burger from Barroco or better yet make my own but alas, I don't have a grill and don't cook for myself that often. If you go to the meet in Columbus, you'll try one of my burgers, maybe
