The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

Congrats again, guy! It looks like a bass clef on top of the cake. I was like "Sweet cake! She's be a Mazda chick AND slapa-da-bass!". Then I realized it's a question mark... Well, at least she'll still be a Mazda chick. :)

Purple!!

Sophia Amparo Santiago. :)

Purple can be a guy color too, you know.

Well, in our case, it meant girl. lol

Can't wait to have the rest of the cake tonight! There's not much left though. haha

Thanks again everyone! It's cool that there's a new generation of Mazda enthusiasts all born w/in a year's time! Larry, Nate, and me!

We went down to Babies R Us today to pick up her bedding set so we know what color to finish painting the room. Of course we had to stop by the clearance racks to check out some cheap clothes. Came home with a handful of outfits already. lol

Ya know, there are good things and bad things about me avoiding the forums on the weekends. I won't get into the good things, but the bad thing is that I'm always late on announcements like this.

Congrats Josh! If she shares all of your interests, you're definitely going to have your hands full in several years. Haha

what he said, congrats Josh!

Yeah the Patriot lost again. WOOHOO!

Thank you grand am racing and lack of a early racing season in Ohio for me getting a warning violation at work. In shorten term I treat the back of the new building at our factory as a tt cone course. I time myself how fast I can get from my mod to the back building using my extremely fast forklift (15 mph yeah baby) and the orange barrels that are set up in a autocross format. Lets just say cones fall down and other things don't. A pole was in my blind spot behind the mast of the lift and I saw it at the last second, and clipped my side of the cradle and snapped to bolts off. Lesson learned. They need to move the polls in the back of the building :) April needs to come a lot sooner. Yes I know I'm an idiot sometimes.

You didn't see all my postings about it on facebook? I know you were on there over the weekend! lol

Make posts... yes. Post pictures... yes. Generally I don't go thru the history because I'm doing it on my phone. I'm generally quite horrible when it comes to learning stuff via social networking sites. I've had to tell a few people that if you want me to know something important, tell me directly, because my life doesn't revolve around that s***.

Finally hopped on here after the weekend in Columbus. Congrats to you and the wifey Josh. I can't imagine how excited you guys are.

On another note, the mod bug is settling in like the plague. I have decided to buy a daily driver car again. I'm on a strict 1500 budget. I have found a couple of 626's and millenias that are running for that price and there are a few that have bad transmissions and engines for 500-1000. I'm looking for ones that are running first. I am about to turn over 70k miles on the MS3 and I bought it with 43k in June. Not ok.

This spring and summer should be an awesomely good time.

That's the point OF those sites though, to tell the masses something, instead of contacting people individually. lol We had a few people we wanted to text first before posting on facebook, but as I went through my contact list, I only found our friends Dave and Kerry in Lartrobe important enough to text. I was like, "**** it...everyone else can see it on fb." haha

People just take it too far....I don't need to know that you're cooking dinner right now, nor do I care about the silly squirrel you saw on the way to work!!!!!

I feel the same way. If it weren't for my wife (then girlfriend) I wouldn't even have a Facebook page. Hell, I haven't updated my user picture in 4 years!

hahaha, i get texts all the time "did you see this or that on fb" my reply is always something like i have more important things to do than creep on fb all day hahaha

Truth!

I like Facebook because I'm anti-social in real life. I can "keep up with friends" without having to go out of my room. lulz.

I know quite a few people have painted their brake calipers, but has anyone had them powder coated?

You'd have to strip the caliper down quite a bit to do it, but I don't see why you couldn't. Most of the BBK's out there come with powedered calipers.

Yeah I'm hoping whoever will do the powder coating will do the stripping... (not the best wording)

Maybe it's all in my mind but I think it would be a more durable finish than just painting them. Plus, I'm really hoping that it can be a smooth finish as opposed to the pitted look that painting gets. Which, I know is ridiculous, because I won't look at them very much anyways. :D

You're correct, it definitely would be a more durable finish. Not sure if you'd have to strip them all the way down, as in removing the seals and piston(s), and bleeder(s) or not. It's a lot easier to do all of that on a multi-piston caliper than on most factory single piston jobs.
