The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

P5's only rated at 28mpg highway? I've been averaging 31 mixed in mine recently, with year-old oil, lulz.

And of course, congrats Larry! What will the first mods be? :D

I averaged around 34-35 on my roadtrips with my P5... usually running the A/C too. All depends on how you drive them. For me, it was cruise set between 68 and 72, and not weaving in an out of people like a crazy person.

And I'm possibly free this weekend. Just not sure I want to see any of you jokers. j/k. In all seriousness, a friend of mine is going to be in town this weekend.

Year old oil, are you high? Mods, well I have a few ideas obviously nothing outlandish. CAI, header on stock exhaust, lowering springs should be a good start, oh ya wheels are a must the stockers are really bad. I have to do some research over the winter and start that stuff in the spring.

We have family pictures sort of planned this weekend but other than that we are free. Between maternity leave for Jen and me being laid-off we have lots of time to do stuff.
Of course we would bring the baby, Andrew loves to Zoom-Zoom. As long as we would be indoors obviously, I am old and get cold easily. Haha!

Thanks, we like it. For whatever reason Jen and I have both been wanting a wagon, even before we got pregnant with Andrew. I think between Marlon's 6Waggin, and Evan's P5/6 we were hooked. Then Josh comes along with his P5 and we got a bit more serious. I feel a lot more comfortable in the P5 than I do in the 3, all around a better body position I think.

What kind of paint do you use on that, and how long does it last?

I have used both rattle can and automotive paint from a spray gun. The spray gun has a little better finish depending on if there is an application of gloss. It was rattle canned before and had no issues with it lasting almost 4 years before I modified it for the gauge clusters. It's all about the preperation before the application.

sometimes I find interesting titles at work, but this has to be the funniest s*** I've ever seen... I kid you not, these are real titles on live libraries...

i still have my stock msp exhaust if you're interested in the spring.

Coolio is now making cookbooks? talk about Gangster's Paridise

4" will need to be cut out of the pipe ahead of the muffler in order to use it tho. P5's are shorter.

Larry, if you don't mind paying for 93 octane get an MP3 ECU or the reflash. I can lend you my P5 ECU if you decide to get it flashed. It's, by far, the best and most noticeable mod I did to my P5.

I'm excited you want to mod it a bit! I want to help! I love P5's... :) But I'm glad we don't have to do the manual swap.

I do plan on doing some mods, nothing over the top though. Another daily driver of course.
So Nate's exhaust = maybe, it depends whether or not my butt dyno will be able to tell if it makes more powar. MP3 ecu/ reflash = yes, 93 octane = no so that is a maybe too. The mod list I have in mind is really just suspension stuff like springs and rear sway bar, CAI, header and exhaust and some wheels. I don't want to go wild on the P5, there are still things I may want to do to the 3.

You should make a build thread so we can chat about the P5 in there.
-Rear sway is a great upgrade, but unless you get the clunk fix it will drive you batty.
-Tokico HP's and Tein S-techs are the best combo for the P5 IMHO. I loved them on mine.

Don't spend money on performance parts on the 3 since it's got an auto. :D

He will have to get used to the noise of loud exhaust, his dad is a race fan and so is his momma so he has no option. We plan to buy ear muffs for him.
Your right Evan, I would hate to have an automatic car blow me away performance wise. Haha! I will start a build thread sooner or later, I have a lot of questions for the knowledgeable P5 owners.
