The Ohio Random Thread... aka We Should Probably Be Working

At least you've got solid reasons for your decisions. I hate talking with girls I know about cars, it ends up going like this, "Well I don't care how fast it is, it's white, and I hate white cars."

Just get a old B series and ***** it out offroad style.

I would dress it up all beach buggy cruiser style though.

Is there a word for "V-8 ricers"? People who are so pro V-8's it's ignorant? They make comments that are just as dumb as ricers who believe the wing on their FWD car does something, and that stickers add HP.

I'm getting pretty sick of people who believe "there's no replacement for displacement". I'm giving one of these guys s*** on the Trailblazer forum, and he had the nerve to say ""Frankly, any V-8 or V-12 could smear any turbo 4"

Wow...

Wow...

They must be some of the guys I pissed off at Dragway 42 when I went with the Miata. Consistently trapping 100+, even when I blew out 2nd gear.

So on my way home from work yesterday and on my way there this morning, my boost gauge now only reads 0.5psi of boost at WOT. It feels like I'm building boost (way more than 0.5psi), but it still feels like I'm not reaching peak boost of 15psi. I'm not sure what the issue could be, but I'll have to track it down by Sunday for Beave Run. I wonder if it's just the small boost line that goes to the gauge's unit. It seems very thin, is it possible it melted and is leaking? I does route near the turbo and behind the heat shield for the turbo manifold.

Also, another weird issue I've been having since Sunday is that I'm hearing a fairly loud rattling noise near the driver side rear wheel. It only makes the rattling noise when I drive over a bump at 5+ mph so I can't track it down yet. I need to take the wheel off and check the brakes because that's the only thing I touched recently. I wonder if it's the caliper retractor clip thingy because it didn't seem like it was as tight as the other side when I put it back on after swapping the pads.

So how bout them gas prices? Can't believe I payed 3.39 a gallon for 93 yesterday on Arlington road in Akron. Regular was 3.19!!! I hope they stay this low...they said it could get up go 5.00 a gallon this summer...screw that!!!!

Evan it could be a bad shock. My car had a rattle as well and a bad shock was the culprit. Sunday beaverun? What did I miss?

Flat out days @ BeaveRun, this Sunday, Lauri and Evan #2 are running the morning, Tom Cabral and I are running in the afternooon, with the big boys. Shouod be fun, I think evan #1 is coming to check us out. Evan #2, it could be the gauge, you have a Prosport mechanical gauge right? I had issues with mine, which I just replaced with the AEM Tru-Boost controller digital gauge, you may want to look at it. You can get it fairly cheap on Amazon.com

here's the link: https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned)

Ya I've read a few people having issues with the Prosport Premium Mechanical Gauge. I'll try to see if any of the fittings are loose too.

That's definitely possible, I'm coming up on 49k miles and I've had a few track day already.

There's a Beaverun thread you might have missed.

Evan... did you hook the ebrake line back up to the control arm?

Ya I remember hooking that back up and I double checked that it was still bolted on yesterday. I'll have to move it around and see if it's loose but the bolt felt finger tight at least.
